I think 20's are as big as I would go. The 22's look good on the show cars, but there not practical on the mustang for daily use. As for all the people that preach the "old school" look, I think those two words have lost there meaning. If you really want an old school look, why are you running 17/18” wheels, you should be considering some 14/15” wheels and big fat tires.

Personally, I'd like 15" wheels on my Mustang. I'm just not a big wheel guy. The reason I don't have 15" wheels is because the car came with 17's. If it had come with 15's I'd have kept those on too. I'd much rather put my money into $2000 worth of engine mods then $2000 of chrome. And when I said "old school", I didn't mean for you to take it literally. I'm 27... I couldn't be that old school if I wanted to be. I just like the whole idea of rally stripes, hood pins, bigger sidewalls, and just the unrefined mean lookin' and soundin' muscle car that I think the Mustang stands for. Saleen can come out with a sleek Mustang with 20" wheels and although I like it because it's a Mustang, that's just not me.

oh and one more thing, one of my favorite quotes of all time and bobby will back my on this one

"YOU LAUGH AT US BECAUSE WE ARE DIFFERENT
WE LAUGH AT YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE ALL THE SAME"

OK, I was perfectly content to read and watch this thread and stay out the fray, but this quote cracks me up. You say we laugh at you because you are different??? I checked out the Vertically Challenged website and the one thing I noticed is how your cars all look the same (TO ME!!!). All dropped, all sporting big a** wheels, and "custom" vinyl or paint. Maybe we are laughing for other reasons entirely.

Putting on my flameproof suit now.
[/b][/quote]

i wouldnt expect you to understand what im saying because you dont live our lifestyle

anyway the point is we make our cars/trucks look completely different then others of the same models that are factory and or have minor mods done, which makes us as indaviduals different from the norm and thats why most people laugh at us because our rides are different from anything you can buy from the factory and we laugh at those that drive factory cars/trucks that all look the same

and one reason you might think that all the rides on my website look the same is because we have a few hundred custom cars in one place but we are a very small percentage of factory cars out there so although we do most of the same mods to our vehicles it is so much different then the norm

anyway i did ask for honest opinions and i can handle that but some of the people go beyond giving an opinion and start taking bad about the person or there car

if its not for you then just say its not for me or just dont post but dont talk down to someone for them wanting to do something different or custom to THERE car thats just pointless

someone can close this thread for all i care i know which direction i want to go with this car and if that pisses people off then good im not building it for them im building it for me and untill they want to make my car payment then they have no say anyway on whats done to it lol

If you guys laugh at factory cars or even minor-modded ones, you must be laughing all the time. Your face must be hurting from laughing so much everytime you get on the road. Dude, we don't laugh at you because you are different. I honestly laugh at slammed stangs on "dubs" because it just looks stupid. But that's my opinion. Kinda similar to seeing a guy who is 5'3" with size 15 feet. It just looks funny. Sure it's good to stand out, and the short guy with the big feet certainly does. But that's not always a good thing (except for maybe the lucky woman in his life ). I don't think anybody here is knocking your car, or laughing at it, for being unique as much as they are because it just looks odd. I was actually on the way to work today and saw a Camaro with NASCAR stickers all over the thing. I mean, from a block away I thought it was an actual stock car. I passed by the guy who was sitting there in his car just laughing and shaking my head at him. Not because it was the most unique thing I have ever seen, but because it was the stupidest thing I have ever seen.

And why do you want someone to close this thread? Sounds like you don't like critisism.

its not that i dont like critisism its just that this thread is kinda getting out of hand, i just weanted people opinions on something and i get flamed personaly for doing stuff i like to my car

and this is my first car like i said before i come from 10 years of building sport trucks and im taking what i have learned doing that and what i liked about doing that and im building something different in the mustang

i am in no way shape or form a die hard mustang fan like most of the people on here so im just doing what i like to do and it so happends i liked the new body style and thought it would look good with the large wheels 2 tone paint and a nice body kit and lowered a little bit

im not trying to offend any mustang lovers or anything im just trying to build a car the way i want it ya know

Well dude, what do you expect? You're talkin to a bunch of die-hard mustang fans who care only about one thing:PERFORMANCE. You came on here asking opinions about dubs on a stang and you definately got an overwhelming response from these same people saying that it looks stupid and hogs up performance, and I for one might fall into that camp as well. But I'm not going to slam ya down, cuz I like diversity and modifying and customizing is one way to achieve that, but I also like going fast as well, after all...IT IS A MUSTANG!

I agree with the points you made acadian. Why even bother asking for opinions if you are going to bash everyone who offers one?

Your name looked like Arachnophobia when I first read it. I was just giving you a nickname based on that... there was no specific reason. I guess it would be the same if Janet (azlitigator) went off on me, I might call her something related to an alligator.

Crappin Crawlin Crawdads!!! I am beside myself!!!
I have to say though, not nearly as ignorant as Dan making a reference to crawfish since I am from Louisiana. What was that all about, since we are on this subject?

You may get a loss of performance from a 22 but the reason I don't like them is because of how they look. When you look at the lines of the car and what it looks like with 22's, it is so overpowering that it takes away from the car. You can get the small tire, large wheel look your going for without overdoing the whole package.
I drove the 3D Carbon car with 22's and you can not turn the wheel more than 1/4 of a turn without rubbing

i have no problems making a full turn left or right so i dont know why it only turned a quarter of a turn unless it was the taller tires it had

the 3d car has a one inch drop with 22x9.5 and a 265/30 tire which is 28.3 inches tall

i am running no drop as of yet but i have room for a one inch and the wheels are 22x8.5 with 255/30 tires which are 28 inches tall so maybe thats the difference

who knows mine turns fine, drives fine, and feels fine so im happy as a fat kid in a candy store

yours is fine for now because, as you said, you have not dropped it yet. My tires are 27" tall and it has the Eibach Pro kit installed. I have less than 1" from the tire to the fender so I think when you drop your car it is going to be very close to rubbing

i think my tires are about 2 inches from the fenders in the front so i hope i can drop it an inch with out any trouble but if it rubs i just wont drop the front or ill do some body work and tub the fenders to make it not rub, like i said before i come from yeas of building sport trucks so i have no problems making modifications to the body to make things work we'll see though cause i just wont to get the body kit on first and see how it looks and then ill worry about maybe doing a drop

"The fear of heights"

Just to let everyone know i can take whatever anyone says to me thats not why i am upset i just think its a little pooty that the man asked for opinions and some of you people just pretty much dogged the man out if you like it cool if you dont cool but darn dont have to dog anyone out for trying stuff there own way. I dont knock anyone for doing anything custom to there ride so other people should'nt either just respect the life style and repect someone for doing there thing. Thats my last 50 cents on this darn thread. HOLLLAAAA!!!!
