honest opinions on 22 inch wheels
No we don't ALL agree.
I am all for someone doing anything they want to THEIR car. In fact I encourage it. However, in THIS case, vc4life asked for opinions on his setup. If you guys don't want to read the opinions he asked for, don't open the thread.

If you're refering to when I was "yelling" it was because so many people are confused about bigger wheels filling the wheel wells.
If that's not what you were refering to... uh... sure. OK.

i think someone is a little cranky. Chill man no need to get so bent out of shape about somthing that is going on a car thats not even yours. LET THE MAN DO WHAT HE WANTS TO HIS OWN CAR. you dont like the wheels fine just say you dont like em dont dog the man for doing what he wants he asked for opinions your right but not for anyone to down him for doing his thing.

B) Where's the chill pills??? Personally like the 17 & 18 on the 'stang. We stayed with the 17" and a little bling; could have got several brand of Dubs for the same price. It's all a matter of individual choice and ride quality. Rubber bands and lowering spring kits equate to a more harsh ride.
post some pictures
I am always FOR people trying different things and doing what THEY want to their cars. Especially when its a mustang. The reason the mustang is still around is because you can build it in any flavor one wants. Anyone who says not to do something simply because its a mustang has a failure to understand exactly what the car is and why its still going strong.

i ordered my 22's a week ago and there going to be here this week sometime but i have been hearing alot of people on here talk about how ugly they think they are is this because of the fact that they cant afford 22's or do they not like them because there into performance and the bigger wheels hurt that or what im lost ,sorry if this sounds like a hate thread cause its not, its just that i have always liked the bigger wheel less tire look and after seeing the white GT with the red strips on 22's at sema last year thats the look i have been wanting to build in my new GT but i want silver with metalic white strips lowered one inch on 22's with a nice body kit
so anyway what are ya'lls honest opinions on running 22 inch wheels on the new stang
[/quot
22" why stop there? Why not 24", 26", 30", 60", like with anything, sometimes, more is not better it's just more.

You DID ask for an honest opinion... I'll try not to make it a Brutally Honest opinion!
1) First off, it is YOUR car. Do what YOU think looks good/cool/neat/whatever. When it comes to spending your money, our opinions do not matter that much.
2) I am very MUCH in the "22 inch rims look stupid" crowd. The term I think of when I see them is "silly".
3) Unless you put some BIG brake rotors on, they will look even stupider (aka: sillier). Being able to perform a brake job without removing the rims might be interesting, but it is definitely silly.
4) It does hurt performance. Too much mass too far away from the pivot point. Your moments of inertia go through the roof. That hurts starting, stopping, and turning.
5) Did I mention the harse ride? You need SOME sidewall to absorb the shocks the road is directing at you.
And no, I would NOT buy 22" rims even if I had the cash just laying around dedicated for those rims. And for the reasons above, I wouldn't take them if they were given to me unless I could turn around and sell them to buy a set of 18" rims and tires. But that is just MY opinion!

sorry i havnt been on here to respond and im not going to reply to everyones posts since some of them are just stupid or childish,
anyway i got the wheels today and i think they look great and like alot of you said "it matters what i think not what everyone else thinks" and i do appreciate everyones opinion on the wheels and that is what i asked for so im not offended by anything said on here
and really whats the point of getting offended about things said on a message forum anyway??
so most of you think that 22's on a stang looks "silly" or "stupid" well since this is me thread i can say i think bullets and racing strips are already play'ed out on the new stangs and i dont like the way small wheels and tall fat tires look
now lets see who gets offended by that statement
lmao im just making all kinds of freinds on here huh

LMAO lets see one last post on this thread. Some people like performance some people like all show purposes. Me i like to break necks and turn heads at shows with the rest of my boys. I build my ride to be diff. to stay out of the norm i see most of you say 20s and 22s are to big and not made to be put on a mustang well guess what thats why we do it because its out of the norm i dont want to be like everyone else i want to push the limits you dont have to like what someone else does to there ride but darn respect it and dont dog someone for doing there thing. another thing i am rollin 20s and drop springs and i still ride like stock get the right stuff and the right installer and it will be a great ride. Oh and before anyone says its pointless without pics Private message me and ill e-mail you a darn pic or 2.
