Exclamation HID ISSUES????:((((

I bought a kit from HIDGuy.net and it does not work properly.
The lights power up fine when the car is off but as soon as I turn the car on they start to flicker erratically.

I spoke to one of their tech but it seemed that he was more interested in getting me off the phone than actually helping me.

Anybody ever encounter this type of issue with their own HID headlights?
Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.
I would love to get these things to work properly.

I was also surprised the kit that I ordered and received didn’t include any installation instructions, schematics or some sort of diagram for the wiring connections, especially for the driver side.

I have HIDGuy's headlight and fog light kits and the only problems I've experienced is that the driver side headlight won't turn on when its really cold. But if I turn the headlights off and on a few times it comes on. A lot of my friends that have different brands of HIDs have the same problem when its cold. My kits didn't include any instructions either but it's a very simple install.

I live in South Florida there for I doubt that it's a weather issue for me
It's really strange cause when I turn the high beams on they seem to work fine other wise they just start to flicker on and off erratically.

The install was easy after putting the kit together.
I got the hi/low HIDs and this one seems a bit different that the ones that I've seen installed on youtube,
I think some sort of diagram would have helped assembling the kit at-least for the driver side.

If any one has any suggestion please feel free to chime in.

I finally found a local retailer and had them check it out. I watch them test the ballast. One of my HIDguy ballast were bad after being tested. They charged 40 buck for a replacement ballast and installed it on the spot. Everything was great.

Ok, fate should have it that the other HIDguy ballast went out. I went back and it was the same problem. They did another replacement and warrantied both for a 1 year.

Now, I could understand 1 ballast.......but 2? Nope. And before I get flamed and villianized on here with questions like:

1) Why didn't I call HIDguy?

Answer: PMed him on here after the malfunction. He gave a call back number. The number either never answered or went straight to voicemail. With no return call. I called for two days.

2) Why didn't I just buy another from HIDguy?

Answer: Because it took a whole week just to get confirmation of payment; and then another month to actually get the kit. During that time I called the number on the site, PMed, and sent email about where the order was. I was about to file a dispute to get my money back.

I understand some people have great experience with HIDguy. Mine is not. And before some says I should of gave HIDguy the time to rectify the situation, I have this to say:

1) If I can't reach your phone (I tried different calling times in hopes it was conflicting business hours and volume, and not bad service.) then how can I start to rectify it?

2) If it took a Month plus a week to receive an simple item such as a HID kit, then I won't be inclined to do business with you again....even if the kit was great. Nothing worse than the feeling someone took your money without a product in return.

3) 2 Ballast were crap and tested to verify they were. The odds. If the customer service and shipping time didn't throw a red flag for me, the ballast did.

Now I have a Mustang with different Ballast (of a company that I will leave unnamed out of respect of the forum and vendor rules) and HIDguy wiring. And, knock on wood, I doubt the wiring is bad. Even the guy who put in the replacements said the wiring and bulbs are almost the same as his.

Then I would be out of the money for the kit and the shipping cost. Because I doubt I'll get my money back..........soon. Plus I have to admit.....I threw them away out of frustration at the shop, except for the last one. Isn't worth the hassle for a 40 buck part.

I'm not too butt hurt over it. I just hated the wasted time, wasted a little money, but I hate for it to happen to someone else.
