I really like the 8000K. I just purchased them myself. I'll be posting some pics as soon as I receive them and get them installed.

now 6000 or 8000

I think I'm going 6000.

Edit: what the heck-ordered. Full review with the photos nobody ever takes of them when I get them-including full beam pattern over distance and glare check from other cars.

Yea, that's the guy that I got mine from.

A little info, he sent me the right kit but the prong that goes into the left side stock assembly was wrong. I had to get a diagram of the wiring for the H13, splice the wrong prong, and used female connectors to make the new one. Wasn't hard, I got a buddy who works at an stereo place to help me out. Just make sure you get the hi/los right, we got them mixed up the first time. Everything else was an ease though...

Here is the auction I won.

By the way Blullitt05 thanks for the info about the wiring. I got mine from the same seller as you. I can't wait to get them. Now I have to find someone that makes a HID kit for the GT500 fog lights.

How fast does the solenoid flip the bulb up?

My bro is an ex-stereo guru so I guess I'll do it at his place Do you think the error is a fluke or in the kit's design?

Probably just a fluke. The H13 is a common bulb on newer cars, all the ford trucks, even dodges use them so you might get the right kit. Even if that prong is wrong, it's not hard to fix and get them working right.

So what kind of bulbs do you need to purchase to make the 6K kit work?

The bulb is always h13, the color temperature is determined by the K rating of the bulb. 4000 and 6000 are very white, 8000 has a more noticeable touch of blue, and higher K numbers mean it gets more and more blue, but light output drops and glare gets worse. I wouldn't go higher then 8k. 4k is if you just want the white light, 6k has a little 'stylin' to it with a touch of blue, 8k commits to the blue-look, 10K+ gets ricey.

Typically when you order it, you pick the bulb type(H13) and then specify K-rating. Most sellers sell different Kelvin ratings. There are several ways you can do it:

-Standard HID(low beam only), much simpler(and probably more reliable) and costs less. Most OEM applications use this along with a second halogen bulb fore the high-beam-obviously that won't be possible with our cars.

-Bi-xenon has 3 different ways you can get a high-low beam:

1. use two elements in the bulb(requires 4 balasts and is much more expensive), stangmods setup is like this.
2. a 'flip up' solenoid(which the kit I ordered has-seems strange because the reflector won't really notice a 'crooked' bulb that well, but the saleen setup has this). I got bi-xenon just to pass state inspections as I hardly ever use hi-beams anyway. and
3. a retracting 'shield' over the top of the bulb that retracts for high-beam. There is a seller on ebay that offers these touting 'german made', and hes based in the US with great feedback. I probably would of tried them I had seen it before I ordered these, even though they are about $50 more.

There supposedly is a shielded bulb that has a small metal bar in the bulb over the top to prevent glare that the european forums talk about a lot(low beam only), but I have never seen this offered for sale. They had some additional letter, such as H13S. Design 3 seems to use the idea. I'll give these a shot, although we will see if they are that great. I doubt they are actually made in Japan, but for the price I've paid in the past for a bad date, what the heck.

Gottcha...so can you give me a link of what would be the best overall HID kit to order, taking into account cost/performance/etc. Does the bulb come with most kits, or should I just buy a 6K H13 Sylvania bulb?

Well another thing is bulbs. Sylvania and Phillips are the best. They only do 4 and 6k bulbs, so you know its no chance if its 8k or higher. All the kits come with bulbs. Nothing wrong with a decent off-brand either but hardly anyone discloses who they use. Gut feeling-I would say if you want a guaranteed good product and don't want to take any chances, spend the extra money and go with the stangmods(#1 choice) or americanmuscle setups. I haven't even gotten mine in and I'm already thinking 'ugh'....I'll feel lucky if it goes ok. Gotta stop shopping at 3am

If you feel like doing ebay, this is the guy I was thinking of buying from just after I paid for the other set, feedback is insane. Have no experience with them either though.

So is this kid from Stangmods only a single beam?
http://www.stangmods.com/2005-Mustan...it-p/00999.htm
Reason I ask is because I would like to keep Hi/Low Beams even with the HIDs

Wonder how the product from the ebay seller, "nissangtrpower" compares to the one from stangmods? It's about half the price.

Anyone tried the nissangtrpower product?

I'm anxious to see if the $150 one holds up! I rather spend around $200 than $300 for it...
