All I can say is talk to Ford... we don't have any "ins" there, and last time we inquired about becoming licensed to sell official products the answer was less than appealing. Maybe if we started out making them with the current logo they would have sent the nasty letters to us and we could have gotten in that way, seems to have worked for a couple manufacturers...
Anyway, when we do our "own" car all the logos will match

I think it's pretty crappy that they can't strike a deal with you guys, since you've done stuff for them. Well, maybe not directly (or maybe you have, i'm not sure), but the name Saleen comes to mind.

Anyone else have this happen? The car is one year old. The black paint on the fake gas cap just peeled off. First i noticed a huge piece had peeled away. It looked like crap with part of the black peeled off. Then the next time i washed the car, i pointed the garden hose at it and the rest of the paint peeled off instantly.
I can't decide if i like it now being unpainted, or if I should repaint it. It's not really a noticeable defect to the untrained (non-Mustang) eye.
I included a before shot (from a year ago) and two after shots as it is now.

Shelby /= Ford...
Only Ford=Ford, and until they feel the need, there is nothing we can do about it. If and when that day comes though, we'll be here, making parts that make the difference

I could be wrong but I think his trunk is painted black and then filled the holes left behind by the fake gas cap with the ford oval. That's the $15 fix.. buying a ford oval. I wonder if other badges would look good in there.. like the tri-bar or GT.

I think this is a perfect opportunity to try some crazy paint idea on that cap.
Check out some of the paints these guys sell, and see if there are any effects you think might look good on that cap.

I personally think the Ghostchrome coating would look awesome!

Looks like the emblem was not preped properly when they did it. I would get it fixed only because you might not like it down the road. Doesn't look half bad though. I just hope this does not become a problem, as I too remember my 06 had an insert but my 07 does not
