Legend Front Splitter for GT available at SHR

Guys, just wanted to let everyone know that we are now carrying the Legend front splitter for the 05+ GT front end. I was very impressed by the quality of this piece, and as usual, if I like it, I figure someone else might too

Price is 299.00 + Shipping (not too bad) and stainless hardware will be included. It attaches using six existing holes, and 6 additional 1/4" holes need to be drilled after the initial six are used to insure a secure, long life. Installation takes about 30 minutes, and a little cordless drill, a ratchet, and one wrench is all that is required to install it.

We will be building a turnbuckle kit for this shortly, but it won't be available for a couple months. Pictures are below.

Price is 299.00 + Shipping (not too bad, around 20.00-25.00 to most of the US via FedEx) and stainless hardware will be included. thanks for the heads up! I was wondering why I couldn't find it on the GEF site?

BTW, what is a "turnbuckle" kit ?

Well, on real race cars you want to be able to adjust the angle / position of the front splitter (or the rear spoiler / wing), and so with a threaded setup that has a left and right hand thread in the center "turnbucle" you can adjust the height easily without disassembly. While you don't need an adjustable setup on a street car, lots of the stuff put on isn't "needed" but does fill the wow factor nicely. I think it will be a nice addition, and shouldn't cost too much.

Let me see what I can dig up...

Ok, the attached picture shows turnbuckle setups to adjust a NASCAR splitter - basically the same setup used to adjust tie-rod ends on the suspension, just without the ugly factor

As to what was under the car in the one picture, we had 1/2 the car supported by window louvers at Mustang Week - didn't want anyone thinking they were made from weak materials or something!!

How much does that drop the front of the car, with the GT/CS being lower I am worried about taking it off on a curb or parking stop. But that does look really good. I may bite the bullet and go with it anyways just for looks.

Rather than having to buy all these parts seperately, can we just buy your white #05 race car?

Its a great part but it is a ***** to find places to buy it. Should see a pretty good level of sales having it at SHR.

LOL - of course # 05 is for sale - for the right price

You should actually consider buying this one though...

She doesn't get to be driven much since I took on this "new" job of being in the Mustang business...although I don't know what it would take to part with her.

As for the front splitter - we have 8 left in stock right now, and I'm going to add it to the website today so you won't even have to call if you want to order it at 2:00am or something.

Also, I haven't tried it, but it won't fit the CS bumper - it's a different shape under the radiator opening and wouldn't work without modification.

Finally... the page for the splitter is now up on our site, here's the new link:

Ah, quite alright - she's really not available, I've had her since before I had a driver's license. Way too many memories to just let her go...

Heck, even #05 is growing on me, although it's weird that at any given time pieces are always missing from it so we can be working on other parts. Kind of interesting that the car is always in some sort of state of disassembly, and it's still fun to drive.

Of course if we're talking about the splitter - that's cool too. The beauty of the Mustang is that it can be whatever you want it to be, and everyone's can be different yet cool.

Is it just me, or does it only look good on a white car?

I was seriously considering the Legend chin splitter 'cause it looks great on the #05 car (plus any endorsement from Marcello means it's gonna be a quality piece).. but after finding pictures on cars of different colors, I'm finding that it might only look great on a white car. Is it just me? I can't quite put my finger on it, but to me, it just doesn't seem the same on a darker car like tungsten. I nabbed the attached pic from some other site.

That doesn't look bad at all, but I think that would look alot better color matched. I have a black Stang so I think I could get away without painting it.

It doesn't work with a C/S front end. My Cervinis splitter is very simillar(other then it being a PITA to get it to look nice unlike the legend one) and with ultralites I'm easilly 2" lower then the standard curb..Still makes speed bumps and the lower 'composite' parking stops.

Actually there's a few pictures of Brad's car with it on in Tungsten - although I heard that there was a bit of a problem with the original install and Brad no longer has it.... something to do with not using the proper hardware or all of it or something, then exceeeding the speed limit or something to that effect (on a closed course, not on public roads )

Ours has hung on well in excess of 100MPH, and has had no issues, bolted on according to the directions of course.

Like I said, I can't quite put my finger on it. For example, Kevin's car looks great as does Brad's.. but maybe that's because both have a very clean front ends (no fogs or honeycomb grill) A stock tungsten GT front end with this splitter just seems busy to me while it doesn't look busy on a white stock front end. Personal taste I guess.

I'll just save my money for all the other stuff Marcello is coming out with that I didn't even know I wanted (i.e. radiator grill inserts completely took me by surprise )
