Cut it with a Dremel or bolt cutters or anything that will cut through steel.

And, I still receive a few strong stations! Doesn't really matter anyway, I mostly listen to CD's.

I pulled the ball off the top, use care not to lose it, and clamped the end I was cutting off in a vise. Then I saw it with a 28 tooth per inch blade. You will need to sand/grind the tip down since it is thicker the further you go down the antenna. I used a bench grinder for this, but a dremel would work too. Once you have the tip sized for the ball glue it on with super glue.

I installed an interior amplified antenna and eliminated the antenna completely. Reception is better then stock. Later, I had the hole welded and painted. It came out pretty nice.

Here's a link to instructions:

And pictures of the car without the antenna

I can't say because the owner of the body shop that did the work was a friend of the family. I got lucky, he only charged $175 to fill and paint the hole, the mirros, the CDC spolier and the lower grill. He did a grat job and the paint match was perfect. I don't know how much a body shop would charge.

Where???

Where did you buy the antenna from? I can't find it online. Local circuit city had a variation of yours but wanted $60 for it.

You can find the antenna just about anywhere, just do a google search for metra 44UA200.

A very reliable and highly recommended vendor is Crutchfield, they have it for about $20

Lightbulb Temporary fix

When you remove your antenna plug one of these into the mount. Works till you have time to shave the antenna mount off.

I'm also using these to plug the holes made by the dealer front plate install.
