Will Production Model Look Similar?
#2
My guess is that the production version will look very similar to the concept. But you guys have come up with some good ideas in this forum that would be nice see, maybe as options (i.e. ghost stripes, color-matching ground effects/mirrors, and different wheel options).

I heard a few times that it will look 90-95% the same as the show car. What's gonna change? Who knows. My guess:
1) Wheels will be 18" standard w/optional 19". Design may change;
2) Interior will change slightly ([B]PLEASE KEEP THE SHOWCAR DOORPANELS!!)[B]
one thing I hate re:the new GT Mustang is those surface-mounted speakers
3) Stripes will be a dealer install;
4) Tires will be wider
How am I basing these opinions? Couldn't tell ya.

From what Motor Trend said, the scoops in the hood, the wheels, and the chin spoiler will be the only things changed if i recall correctly. the wheels on the concept i believe will be offered as optional.

The concept is probably 90% - 95% of what we will see in the production car. The changes I think will be mostly cosmetic:
1) 19" wheels will be optional, 18's standard
2) Stripes will be optional
3) Rear spoiler and front splitter may change
Other items I'd like to see change:
4) Paint everything body color
5) Mirrors

2) Stripes will be optional
3) Rear spoiler and front splitter may change

Undoubtly there will be a few minor changes but with the production car rolling out as a 2007 model I'm sure the changes will be very minor especially with all of the positive feedback on it!

One thing most people are overlooking is the instrument panel. I think that the reversed gauges will not make it into the production model because of tooling. It will cost a lot of money to tool the IPs for just a few models. If the entire lineup swaps the speedo and tach to the opposite sides, then it might happen, but I doubt it. The bean counters tend to take a lot of things away, and that one might be overlooked, but removed.

ADD IUP!, the original shelby's had brushed aluminum or woodgrain on the dash, the new ones should too! add retro shelby wheels, halibrands or magnum 500's! and make more scoops and louvers optinal.
