Does anyone know how many Ford SVT dealers there are in the United States?

I live in the Minneapolis area, and we only have two.

I realize the ability to order is based on previous sales, etc. but just trying to come up with a rough estimate of how many dealers there are that can actually order the GT500's.

There is some possibility of Ford doing away with exclusive SVT franchises and making SVT products available to all dealers...still up in the air

That would make it easier to shop around, but more difficult to get a better deal. Now each dealer may only get one or two, and they will mark it up.

There are 2 dealers in my area. My guess would be no. There are not enough svt made to have all the dealers sell.
to answer someones question on x or a plan for the cobra. The answer is NO. Ford does Not accept those plans for svt products

I thought it was up to the individual dealer's discretion. I've heard some people have gotten those plans on Cobras in the past few years, but that it isn't easy.

I qualify for the x plan and was told NO. Hummm- Now that you mentioned that some people have , I would like the skinny on this.If true I think I can afford a cobra. Remember X plan = 4% below dealer cost!! That works for me!!

Apple Valley Ford in Apple Valley and Tousley Ford in White Bear Lake.
I talked to the SVT guy at Apple Valley yesterday and I am 9th on his list, but the list is very informal at this point, basically your name and phone number.

That info is not correct. It might be 4% below dealer cost for a A plan but not X. I have X and have purchased Ford's with X and it's withing a couple hundered of invoice.

I think all you need to do is call around to all the SVT dealers you can find, until you locate one that will cut you a deal on X-plan. They're out there. I've read on other enthusiast forums that people have purchased Lightnings and Cobras on X, A and Z plan before, but that it sometimes took many calls to many dealers before magically they found one who said, "No problem!"

Granted, with the Shelby, I think you're gonna have a real hard time finding a dealer to offer discount pricing, but I'm sure there will have to be at least a few -- especially as time goes on. Unless, of course, Ford makes the decision that discount plans are not to be accepted on it at all.

I qualify for Z-plan myself (retiree version of A-plan) so it would really help me, if I could use it...

I agree. I want to stay exclusive to certain dealers. The one I am ordering from has an impressive service dept. Only one crew services the SVTs Roush and Saleen.

to find a SVT dealer, go to Ford's website and go to "locate a dealer", when you do a search of cities/towns/zips- it will clearly be indicated "SVT"

Yea, it was Mike. We sat and talked for about 20 minutes. Shot the breeze about everything from cars to the nice curvy roads in southeast Minnesota that are a well kept secret (oops, not anymore) to Italy and on and on.

Real nice guy, straight shooter, makes it easy to talk to him.
