Given all the other options out there, the Ford GT, and the latest Shelby concepts, there is no way a new Shelby Mustang will be a $100k car.

I agree, 110K is way too much, even for a Shelby. I could settle for GT 350 stripes

For ANY Mustang to cost $110k, it had better be the fastest production car in the world. Period.

Thats just to much money. No matter what. You can by a Vette for $45 to 55,000. and a viper for around $80,000. Not that I would, but with all do respect, they are powerful, well built cars. If the so called Shelby Mustang is produced, it should be no more than the Vette, preferably around $40,000 to $ 50,000. But it must be high end in every respect. No corners cut. Just my 2cents worth. B)

Is it official that Shelby is working on his own version, independent of Ford influence? What about the SVT? Isn't it supposed to have a version of the S/C 5.4 from the GT? What will all the tuners do to compete with that? Who'll buy a $50,000 tuner Mustang when you can get one from Ford, with warranty, with about (a rumored) 450-500 horsepower for around $38k-45k?

Yeah I got to agree. I'd plop down the money for a new Z06 (rumoured to be around 500 HP when Chevy releases them) or a Viper, heck a slightly used Ferrari would be nice.

I think a GT350 needs to come in between the cost of a new Mustang GT and if a GT500 comes out then they could price that right around what Ford would ask for a SVT Cobra.

Actually the $110K Mustang will open a can of whoop-a** on ANYTHING with wheels.

It will also lift you into low earth orbit.
Yep. It should have the hyperspace accessory somewhere on the dash....

If they only make around 300, I don't think we have to worry about getting the car. Why do I have a feeling that if this is true Ford's in house hi-performance version(SVT) will be a much better car at a fraction of the price ....

A mustang that is as much as the GT??!? Somehow I don't think it's possible. Look for a shelby, but not nearly in that price range.

I dunno; it makes no business-sense to make a super elite version of the every-man's sports car. It seems like $50K would be a reasonable target, and towards the high end. As people point out, there's just too much good competition out there.

You won't find a GT for any where near $110K.

I wouldn't buy a Shelby unless it came out of Ford as an SE. Plus, $110k sounds more like the Shelby concept from last years Auto Show.

I still don't know what I am doing yet, but a 2007 SVT Cobra - if under $40k is pretty high up on my list right now!!
Although, I think Ford would sell more 350 - 400 hp SE for $29 - 32k - which I would buy in a second!!

yeah.... I'm thinkin' that $110K is waaaaaay too much for a Shelby Mustang. The GT is what.... $135K? and that's going to be replaced by the GR-1..... which Carrol has had his hand in. I don't think that a Mustang will ever see a price tag that high (as MSRP). If people want to get a car that has Carrol Shelby's name on it, they're going to pay that much for a GR-1 with 600HP before they pay that much for a Mustang.

Just throwing this out there, but anyone have updates as to a possible Shelby mustang appearing in the early part of next year? This thread mentions something about the Shelby group making a GT500 but the price possibly being close to $100K. Any more info or just still guess and rumors?

100K no way, I heard 1Million per car and they're only going to build 10 and sell them only to heads of state and movie stars! Seriously, get a grip people theres confusion and misinformation and just plain gossip on this subject. Shelby is working on the mustang, but the price often quoted here is nothing more than the speculated price of the Shelby GR1 if it should go into production! NO price range has been set for the mustang, but rest assured it will be well under 100K. Shelby, and the people at Shelby Automobiles are well aware of their target. (can you say Viper?)

Nope. You can get a $110K car, plus a fully loaded Mustang GT premium and still have some change to go..

I mentioned the $100K because that is what this thread mentioned in previous posts. I and you have no idea what this thing is going to be priced at, whom will sell it, and when it will be available. I was just wondering if there were info/rumors/guesses available at this time. I AM speculating the Shelby mustang concept will show up in Detroit or New York next year. The Viper is still a very pricey car to me and I am sure to most others for a daily driver. Just holding out hope for a below $40K Shelby version until I see and know otherwise.

Well, Karktaft sells that GT engine, for 45K. the stang is at least 26 or 27, so that is at least around $72K. now add in all the body work, because you know he's gonna nuts with that, and then rims tires and suspension upgrades.... I guess that would put it pretty high up there, I don't know about $110K though. Either way, that is just way to much for that car. But I am sure if it's true, it WILL be the sweetest freak'in mustang ever built. Bye bye Viper, or anything else for that matter.

Back to the waiting game........
