Yet to be determined who will sell the car. Ford or Shelby.
Look for it at the Detroit auto show.
Will it happen? Yes, there is a waiting list already. #1 on the list is The King of Morroco.
$$$ Price$$$ preliminary estimate... $ 110,000
Specs? Nothing specific except for the Engine. 5.4 Supercharged out of the GT....... remember the thread about this already?....

I can somewhat confirm charlie's info. I talked to a guy at Shelby Automotive and he said they are working on something. They have one or two mules. The target date back in August was NAIAS but it could be moved up to SEMA if need be.
They said they weren't working with Ford on a factory project but rather an in-house Shelby. It would be upscale ($$$) and "really cool" as the guy put it.

If Shelby goes the mega-bucks route its the wrong move. It should be cheaper then the SVT. Last time shelby went too far on Mustang pricing, they had to re-register leftover 1969's as 1970 models.
I'm with Kevin on this one. I think (provided the 2 model choices rumor turns out to be true) that the first step should be naturally aspirated and the other....ummmm....unnaturally aspirated (heh) with a supercharger...but the first of the two should fall somewhere around the price of the convertible, perhaps a bit more. Regardless, still something I would have no problem driving as a daily driver. Anything with a supercharger borders on suicide in the winter, I'm thinkin'...
I say this only because I find no other good reason to hold off on buying an '05 right now!

$110K is pretty excessive for ANY Mustang. Then again, if the King of Morroco is prepared to shell out the money, and there's a waiting list, who am I to criticize. If they can turn a profit, go for it!
Too bad few on this board - myself included - will never be able to afford one, though. Guess we'll just have to settle for the "lowly" SVT!

yeah, i wont be on that waiting list ever! ill be on the 2015 waiting list to get a used 2005 Ford GT LOL but i guess shelby figures ford is going with GT, SE SVT and ford prob didnt want to give him enough profit to add a GT350, GT500 from Ford. so he is going saleen route. 40-60K maybe but 110K??? ill take the 07Cobra for 40k Alex
Over $110k?!!!!!!!!!
That sux!!!!!!!
I was really looking forward to a new Shelby (in a resonable price range) but that's crazy!
I hopw the next Cobra blows it away.
If this is true, I have lost ALL respect for Caroll Shelby and Shelby America.
darn, I'm pissed!
