If it looks similar to this, and has the supercooler, we would have a big time winner!

I absolutely love the tail end of that photochop -- too bad Ford probably wouldn't make something like that, with the design of the trunk the way it is. Those taillights, and the ducktail.... would be sweeeeeeet.

1) An aluminum PUSHROD V8 that doesn't take up all of the room in the engine compartment with gigantic heads and makes 350 HP normally aspirated.

2) A supercharger option to give it close to 500HP

3) A curb weight under 3350 lbs.

4) A near 50/50 F/R weight distribution for the non S/C model

5) Optional IRS

6) A computer with a USB port that will let you read codes and change the timing curves without paying for some half engineered add on with limited functionality

7) A track option with improved cooling (oil and water), even bigger brakes, and dry sump oiling.

8) SLA front suspension.

My though is that none of those will come to pass... It will have an over complicated Mod Motor with a supercharger, it will weigh as much as a fat pig, it will be nose heavy, it will have a stick axle (though IRS is possible), the computer will be locked down tighter than (insert euphemism here), No track option, will come with a MacSpension.

Do you think there is anything wrong with a MacPhereson strut front suspension? Seems like BMW puts it to good use on the M3.

Yes I do think there is something wrong with them...

They lose negative camber under compression which is what you don't want. That is the reason that all the Fox and SN-95 Mustangs drive around with 2 degrees of static negative camber so that when they go into a turn the tire stays flat.

A SLA gains negative camber when you compress it so that when you enter a turn and load the outside front wheel, the top of that wheel goes in toward the car, the bottom goes out which increases the contact patch of the tire and the overall grip of the car in the turn.

Yes, I know BMWs use strut suspensions quite effectively. My current car has struts and (after a little work) it handles well enough to give the little cars a hard time in autocrosses.

However, an SLA is a superior suspension design. I'm sure Ford's main reason for using struts is cost. There may also be packaging and potential wieght issues as well.

You asked what I wanted to see and that one stays on my list.

Oh... and let me add.... a radio with standard input/output impedence levels and connectors so I don't have to go rummaging though junkyards to fix my busted Ford proprietary poop.

Don't think for a minute that they don't screw you on purpose with that kind of stuff. :notnice:

I would like to see a high end factory system. Like Alpine or something similar. Not too fancy so that it doesn't add a lot of weight, but, easily expandable so you could if you wanted. A nice head unit, a couple of amps and real speakers instead of the junk you usually get.

Sounds great, but, Ford would probably charge double what you could put it in yourself for.

I would really love to see this. It is about time for performance cars to come with standard interfacing.
