Cobra "Surprise" Wishlist

Once SVT upgrades it never retreats. IMO the current 6-spd tranny is the best ever on a Cobra, or on any Mustang for that matter.

Dave
lol, although i'd love a hybrid mustang (Ã* la Accord V6 hybrid with 265 hp), i don't think this tech would be very suitable for a Cobra, as i'm sure most of you guys would agree.
Anyways, if i let myself go, i'd still love to see two cars: An SVT Cobra in the $40K, 450hp range as well as a Shelby Mustang in the $60K, 550hp range, competiting with the Z06 and the Viper.
I hope we get a mustang with front end styling similar to the GT-R and the 05 concept, with the inner edges of the headlights angled in, it gives the car a much more aggressive caricature, i find.
Supercooler would be sooooo cool, like a nitrous bottle that recharges itself after a couple minutes.
Hips would be so sweet! I was ticked when Chrysler beat ford to it with the charger.
But if i had to make ONE wish and only ONE wish, it would be this: QUADRASTEER!!!

I have been in that camp also ever since Shelby rejoined Ford
I guess we will see soon I also believe that if there is a Shelby Cobra Jet that it will have a GTR nose with side exhaust and the concept tail lights
My list: 400+ HP, Targa top or vert, IRS (more just have people stop female ******* about not having it), 6-spd, HID head lights and LED tail lights, internal trunk release, only option is Shaker 500 or 1000, $35,000K sticker.

I forgot to add this I know it just isn't right on a mustang but on an SVT maby some all wheel drive. That is fast. I drove an sti wrx and an evo and the all wheel drive is nice.

no way on the AWD.... it steers like poo.... I like the fact that I can oversteer a RWD car when I want to.... add a front drive line and you push out of a corner instead. If you want traction off the line, work on the rear suspension and learn how to slip the clutch....
sorry..... didn't mean to rant :nono:
I'm all for the hips and the S/C 5.4... a 428 SCJ would be cool, but then weight becomes a factor.
If they decide to use the GT-R concept, then go ahead and leave the roll cage in there.... or dummy it down to a basic one... the GT-500s came with a roll bar.

Actually a cool option would be a removable targa top or t-tops, whichever, but i would prefer a targa top, man that would look soooo sweeeet.

If it looks similar to this, and has the supercooler, we would have a big time winner!

AWD cars don't all necessarily steer like poo, though a lot of them are tuned that way. But other AWD, with more purely sporting intentions, can steer quite nicely and be tuned for a touch of oversteer in terms of suspension and also F/R power proportioning.
Either the EVO or STi, I forget which, even has a little proportioning dial in the center counsole to allow you to dial in your F/R power balance manually.
The Lamborghini Gallardo and Murciellago (sp-?), AWD and not cars thought of as steering like poo, has something like a 35/65 power proportioning and can certainly hang its tail out and create expensive clouds of tire smoke should one have just one the lottery.
And then there's always the consideration of traction off the highly idealized environment of the strip, i.e. the real world of gravel, rain, dirt, oil, snow, ice, mud, etc., that the vast majority of any performance cars are more likely to traverse than a perfect-traction drag strip staging area.
All that said, I doubt you'd see the Stang in an AWD configuration. But there are many other cars in Ford's stable that would be more readily amenable to creating a hi-po AWD version: Focus, 500, Futura, etc. Despite the many advantages of an AWD system, especially in a real world performance car (as opposed to track or strip), the Stang is, in its character -- good, bad or indifferent, a RWD car.

IF that is the car or something very similar close, I WILL get one. That is still the best looking chop I have yet to see.
