I used the same page, what number did you get? I got 18.4, maybe my calculation was off a bit.
Just did the calculation again and got the same number.
Is this the equation you used?
(1/(.495/city MPG + .351/highway MPG))+.15

Hmm, just plugged into excel and it gave me 18.4, that is strange.

=(1/(0.495/A1 + 0.351/A2))+0.15
Where cell A1 = City (13)
and cell A2 = Highway (17)
The result comes out to 17.1882

Here's the formula as it appears in my Excel sheet:

Not sure why you guys are calculating anything.
The gas guzzler tax is based on the highway mileage and is looked up on a chart furnished by the IRS. Here's a link:
http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f6197.pdf
The GTO automatic gets 21mpg highway. If you look at the chart, thats $1300. If you go to the Pontiac web site or Kelly blue book, thats the exact tax they list.
If the Shelby gets 21 highway, it will also have a tax of $1300.

And all this time I thought Iceman was the first to drive it the way he is always rigth and all With a 16 gal fuel tank you will be stopping at the gas station more than a woman nine months pregnant having to pee! I would have thought it would have a higher top speed than 160 if the GT is 150 or a little under. A limiter deinstallation may be in order?

I care about the 13 MPG, because it with a 16 gallon tank, (and the last gallon is never functional), that means 195 miles/tank. I hate refilling often (personality quirk of mine). So going to the gas station at least once a week or more, and spending $30+, is going to get on my nerves.

What are you talking about? They have stated from the very beginning 450+, not 500+.

Sorry for the flashback to page one, but a couple people involved with the car have spilled the info that Shelby won't sign off on the car unless it is pushing at least 500hp. What do you think the 500 in GT500 stands for
Whether or not this is true, we will have to wait, but my source is rather reliable and his information came from someone who was in the... well i shouldn't say, but we would all be greatful to have been there.

With the power gains that the terminator guys were getting on 03-04 Cobras by simply swapping out the roots blower with a twin screw, I can only imagine what can be obtained on this 5.4 engine by swapping the roots blower with new twin screw...
Come on Kenne Bell...
My knowledge in this area is limited, but I cant imagine that 600 rwhp is too far out of the question...holy accidentally smoky tires rubberman...

No where on there does it say only highway. If you use the equation for the GTO and put in 16/21, the calculation gives you 21.1. Hence the $1300 tax.
