2005 Saleen
After Long Deliberation, I have come to the conclusion......I Like it! with just a couple minor gripes.
First of all, That Tacked On, Park Bench of a Rear Spoiler is just that! It Spoils the all new Rear end treatment that is actually Well Executed, if a bit evocotive of a Corvette's Rear Bumper. The Spoiler HAS TO GO!
I don't even mind the "Hockey Stick" behind the rear wheels now, it does carry the theme of the front turn signals through the rear and breaks up what would otherwise be a very Slab Sided Quarter Panel. I would also do away with the extra Tail Light Covers over the Stock Inner Tail Lights. It's Gotta have Three Lights per side.
The Only other things I would change would be to remove the Little Fog/Driving Lights next to the grill, and change the Grill Insert to a nice Stainless Steel Mesh. I'm especially glad to see the Fake Cheese Grater, Side Scoops and Air Extractors GONE for this edition.
Other than that This Saleen is probably the Best Looking, Most Well Integrated Design I have seen for an Aftermarket/Tuner Mustang, since Saleen first started doing Mustangs back in the 80's. I'll bet that's because Saleen had their hands in the pot while Ford was Cooking Up the 05 Mustang.

I like it a bit but it really needs to lose that tacked-on spoiler (BTW, is that the same wing on the current S-281E and 99-00 S-351's?). This car looks better with just the duck tail alone.

i'll put my 2 cents in what I don't like
1 - front grill looks like it belongs on a tractor!
2- rear wing looks like the 89 saleen wing glued to the trunk( TOO BIG& GAUDY)
3- side skirts again looks like the89 gt side skirts
4- front facia- Just doesnt work
Looks like SALEEN & ROUSH are gonna have a bad year with the stang sales

MRT Inertceptor GT and Saleen is the best sofar on 05 Mustangs
I,will say that the wheel/fender gap is nice and tight, very nice. Those rims are very plain next to the current Saleens. The middle of the trunk looks like plastic,or is it just me ?Hopefully they will make some changes after seeing the publics response.
My $.02
The rear spoiler needs to go, a nice ducktail would be excellent
Front grille belongs in the trash, better off to stick with the V6 grille
Fog lights need to be in lower air dam, they look out of place now
Side stripes need to go
A nice cowl hood without the louvers
Tail lights need to be tri-bars

Those lights between the grill and headlights are marker lights, not fog lights.
I also remember reading somewhere in the posts about needing to do something different with the gauges??? The gauges are completely different, just look at our pics:
2005 Saleen Pictures
The wheels are 20x9.5 front and rear with optional 20x10 in the rear.
We will have complete pictures from SEMA next week. Just wait until you see what will be there!

I love how they repeated the pattern of rectangles from the Intake,

Down the Center of the Seats.
Here's a better pic of the Guages, Nice, Bold Modern Font. I'd love to see someone make a "Rally Pack" like the one on the center of the dash, that would mount on top of the sterering column.
Here are a few notes that you may, or may not know already, and some photoshops to show the car with the rear "S351 wing" deleted, along with a few Ford color choices as best as possible.
Thanks and enjoy!

RE: The exhaust
It is what Saleen is calling "Dual on demand exhaust pipes"
For day to day driving the engine flows through the two main pipes in the rear center, but when you jump on the gas a valve opens allowing the exhaust to exit thru two additional pipes that are tucked up and under, the ones coming off the mufflers.
Due to D.O.T. “pass by” testing requirements Saleen had to turn the secondary pipes downward at the tips so the sound was bounced off the pavement rather than flowing straight out the rear.
Thus is the problem of being a "Manufacturer" vs a "Tuner".
RE: The Intake / Supercharger
The blower is new and not “bolt-on”. Lysholm screws are integrated into a unique, cast aluminum Saleen intake manifold. Air is drawn in through the stock throttle body over the top of the engine and makes a u-turn at the firewall, into the rear of the blower. The intake runners are “long and straight”. The whole assembly sits low in the engine bay, similar to the Allen M90 setup.
