So who is the vendor for the 93 performance tune that you reinstalled? is it SCT and how did you tune it YOUR WAY???

I was wondering the same thing .... I guess it must be the SCT canned tune that came with the tuner? And hopefully it had a selection for that particular CAI

I'm assuming the same with the SCT preloaded tunes included with the SCT X4 programmer, John!

I took the SCT 93 tune and made changes to it that were available until I got it just the way I wanted it. Or at least close.

aha that makes sense ... you mean things like rear tire diameter (revolutions per mile) and rear end ratio ..... and hopefully the correct setting for that CAI ... I am pretty sure that tuner will not let you adjust the more critical things like air/fuel mix and spark timing advance

I had a pretty good idea that it was from the SCT X4 programmer...

Unless the tuning files are uploaded into the device from a custom tuning vendor or thru custom e-mail tunes, an SCT canned programmer will not allow the end user to adjust advanced parameters, such as air/fuel and advance spark/timing...

my older SCT does allow limited adjustment of fuel and spark .... but it only lets you add fuel or retard spark, which are "safe" moves; it won't let you adjust it leaner or advance the timing, which can be dangerous if you don't know what you are doing .... probably saved them a ton of money in liability lawsuits, LOL

Yes indeed, John! As my old SCT Xcalibrator2 does allow limited adjustment of fuel and spark, but just as you pointed out will only allow for adding or retarding spark, but will not allow adjustments for leaning or advancing the timing which can only be adjusted in the tune by the custom tuning vendor... In fact, I still have the old Xcalibrator2 sitting in my bookshelf on the 2nd floor...

I've long since upgraded to the SCT X4 programmer with custom e-mail tunes from JDM engineering...

Kevin! You should've been a stand up comedian instead of parts manager for Clevenger Ford...
