We have an actual pre-production center mount GT grille ready to go. We also have a pre-production 6 cylinder to GT conversion grille ready to go. Im going to find two cars ( a GT and a 6 cylinder) and do the install on both. As soon as I get pictures of them and the install process, Ill post them..

Need a test subject?
Good luck with the install. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Question for you... I noticed that the GT grilles have that billet pony on them. Upon closer examination, I noticed that the horse actually has GT inscribed on it. What is the plan for the V6 shell? Will there be an inscription, or perhaps some engraved lines? I'm not sure about most folks, but I'm not one to broadcast things. Engraving 4.0 into it would seem kind of silly, and I think V6 would as well. I'm not quite sure WHAT you'd engrave that would look decent.

EDIT: Here's a pic for those who may not have seen it:

For the show car, we did a billet "pony" logo and engraved the GT logo on it. That was a one off proto type.

Will the production run be a billet pony? I'm guessing that most likely if you use the design, it will be a plain piece. Musclecarsdirect said you were waiting on a nod from Ford before you could use it. Not sure if that's still the case or not.

I love the pony, and definately think it looks great. If there's a vote to be had, I'd cast mine in favor of using that piece. Even if it were plain, it would still look sharp on the grille (especially the Powder Coat) It just pops out at your eyes. Very cool.

Ok Ok ok, I have the fog lights, Harness and all the wiring done (one of those GT to V6 conversion grilles that didn't fit well as far as I'm concerned ) Any chance of getting ahead in line if I buy the lower insert first or out of pure pity for trying the conversion? Looking for the powder coat version for the V6, either the side mount or center mount. With all the interest I just don't want to wait until September.

we are in production now on the V6 to GT conversion shell. Unfortunately, this had taken longer than we had hoped but it is in production. We are having the grille shells painted by a outside vendor to insure good quality and to keep the consumer from having to do the painting. They are at paint now. I expect delevery and assembly to begin in a couple of weeks. Sorry for the delay.. Ill post more as soon as I know..

QUOTE(Mustang Mike 05 @ July 14, 2005, 2:09 PM)
"The Street Scene Speed grilles are made from aluminum or steel- the brushed aluminum style is of course aluminum. The black chrome, chrome or black powder coat ones are made from metal."

Mike, Can't remember/find if there was a post showing pictures of all four. Could you post some so we can see the difference in them please. Does not matter if they are mustang grills or not, would just like to get a feel for the four different styles.
