Is your ECM actually adjusting to your driving?

Is your ECM actually adjusting to your driving?
My manual '07 GT is also my daily driver. And the car just seems to enter this "slow motion" power delivery mode everytime I hit the weekend and I want to drive it harder than to just commute to work.
In practical terms, I feel a slower throttle response and I got that weird sensation that unless I hit 4000 rpms the car just won't pull like before. It also translates into issues chirping tires on 2nd and 3rd while it used to be no problem whatsoever when I purchased the car with a "clean" ECM. My only explanation is that my slow workweek driving style may have the ECM switch to that "snooze" mode.
Has anyone experienced this and/or have a technical explanation, or am I just going crazy and spoiled wanting "more" after just a few months of owning my Mustang? So far, the ECM thing is the only rational explanation I can come up with besides the "it's all in yer head" answer.
Also, I plan on getting a CAI and a tuner very soon. Can this issue be instantly resolved by reflashing the ECM to a factory or performance tune? Or does it only take to drive harder for a while to kind of wake up the car? Any feedback appreciated on this one cause I'm about to seriously question my own sanity

I can't say with any technical knowledge, but I did notice a similar thing with my car, after a few months I was unable to scratch the tires in 2nd...I found that really odd since on the test drive it scratched in 2nd and 3rd. I was getting well over 20 mpg average at the time though...so it does make sense that it was adjusting for less power/better mileage.
Bamachips 93 race tune fixed all that!

I was worried, untill you said you hadnt had it tuned.
I plan on buying a tune/cai asap. It'll be a little bit longer now though, had to buy $1400 tickets to fly home.

It might just be the hot weather Once you get the tune, your troubles are forever over, even on the hottest days its got *****. Just get a good tune from the well known players bamachips/brenspeed/tillmanspeed.

All your troubles should go away with a tuner. I have no lag at any time with mine either while I was N/A and now that I'm S/C.

my car is suffering, it is like 103F regularlly so a cold air intake is not really cold air, i hope winter will be crazy cold this year so i can take her out to the track and see how she really runs under good conditions

Weird, my car is a pig with this weather (around 100 these days) with the Brenspeed tune. It wakes up only in the 3k-4k range. The Ford racing tune on the other hand is holding up well in the low rpm range even with these temperatures, but doesn't have the same pull after 4k.
