I am still waiting for my Magnaflow x-pipe to arrive, it should be in on Monday. I have been looking at diagrams of the x-pipe and it looks like the pipes that connect to the pipes that go back to the mufflers are staggered. When I put the catback exhaust on, the pipes are exactly the same length where they connect to the h-pipe. Did the design change somewhere? Does anyone have any info about this?

I got a Mak performance offroad x-pipe i'll sell ya cheap! It worked awesome...will make your exhaust deeper and louder! Big gain in performance! It is mandrel bent,2.5inch alumized pipe. I have gone with full headers ...so don't need anymore!

Just doing a little investigation as I have a feeling there is an X-pipe in my future - but definitely down the road as the mod fund is currently about dried up (after the ducktail and Eibachs go on).

I have the Flowmaster American Thunder axlebacks already on - the sound of the car is perfect for me - I love it . If it gets louder with the Xpipe alright - but my main reason for installing is added performance, so if it comes down to two and which one is louder, that's not what I am after. I'll actually go with the quieter one.

Thanks to all who throw their thoughts my way - appreciate as always!!

The diagram is wrong, it was an old design based on a prototype car we got from Ford- the new X pipes are not staggered

Thanks

MM&FF is where the review was. I was lucky enough to buy them new from a person on here, who returned there car under lemon law. Got them brand new in boxes whole set up for 750 including axlebacks. So you can see why I bought them. But I was going to anyway at 1100 plus shipping. If you do enough searches on here there is extensive talk about the reviews etc. The review had been stated as giving 20hp without tune and 40hp with tune. There have been at least 20 topics such as yours with the bassani questions, and many questions were answered good luck.
June 5.0 magazine did Bassani cats, x-pipe, and mufflers. Peak gains were 7 rwhp and 12 lbs of torque, maximum gains were 13 rwhp and 17 lbs of torque without a tune. Up to 6200 rpm with tune, max gains are 21 HP and 19 lbs of torque. They got 40 rwhp at 6600 rpm and it was all tune.

MM&FF is testing X-pipes and headers in the next two issues.

Greg, I am not sure if I follow your quote from the 5.0 article.

"max gains are 21 HP and 19 lbs of torque. They got 40 rwhp at 6600 rpm "

are the first numbers you state at the flywheel? thanks.
