Whpple high output fuel injector question

I finally pulled the trigger on a Whipple intercooler upgrade kit for my non intercooled Whipple. My original low output kit came with 32 pound injectors. My understanding is the 32 pounders are good for 360-370 rwhp. Thats about where my car is now. Ive been reading the "Project Milf" series of articles in MMFF, in particular Oct. 2007 issue, pages 182-194. When they added the intercooler they also added 48 pound injectors (the same as the GT500 injectors). These are good for 500-550 rwhp.

Should I go with the 48lb injectors.......I'm thinking yes. I'm also upgrading to a 12lb pulley instead of the 10lb pulley coming in the kit. Keep in mind I have an auto, so I can't go completely crazy. What do ya'll think?

I realize I misspelled Whipple in my title.........Sorry for being a dumba$$

They say they are 48 but flow more like 50-52's, yes get them I think I have some used 55's if you want those.

Kevin MacDonald (Diablosport) told me when I ordered my kit to definitely get the 48's or 52's. I ordered the 52's. He said there's about 10 good reasons to have them even though 39's will work at 10 psi.

The FRPP catalog has some nice articles on fuel injectors (among other intersting tidbits) http://www.fordracingparts.com/downl...gs/2008-pp.pdf pages 137 to 140 deal specifically with injector requirements.

Here's the deal. The supplied injectors are sufficient for 10 lbs, but the fuel system works much harder than need be. Also, if you raise the boost later you'll have the fuel flow if you go with 48' or 52's. This came straight from Kevin MacDonald who's a top S-197 tuner.

I'll be getting my system, shortly and I think I will be going with the 60lb units. That way the fuel system will work less and I will have room to grow when I build the stroker later on. I have seen several dynos where the 38lb's are running at 98% at 10lbs of boost. I'm not saying this is unsafe but pretty well maxed between 400hp and 450hp. 60lb injectors were usually running between the 35% and 50% cycle rate between 450hp and 500hp at the wheels. Every car will be diffrent so need more some will be ok, all depends on the mods. If you plan to go with more hp later get a bigger injector and tune for that but get it on the dyno with a good tuner no matter what you go with.
