Where's the differential cover for our cars?
Is anybody going to make a differential cover for our S197's that will clear the Panhard bar? They're available for just about every other Mustang on the road.

in the NEW 2007 Ford Performance catalog........
They have 2 types
1 that needs a panhard relocation bracket....
and a *NEW* 1 that is specific to the S197 GT Mustang.
With that said..I bought one through Strange and ordered a relocation bracket....I am very pleased with the results

I have one of the FRPPs on my Ford 8.8" and quite frankly, it just isn't worth the hassle and cost unless you really need to use the load-bearing studs.

Benefits of the LPW Cover:
LPW extra low profile Ultr-Pro covers offer maximum chassis clearance and measure only 3 1/8" tall. They are the lightest support cover on the market.
Both Ultimate and Ultra-Pro heat-treated aluminum covers strengthen the rear housing from case distortion, preventing increased side bearing clearance and ring gear deflection. LPW's exclusive adjustable grade 8 load bolts prevent the bearing main caps from movement and possible breakage. Maintaining proper pinion depth & gear backlash results in maximum gear life and performance.
LPW offers ARP main cap stud kits for most applications.
- Fill and magnetic drain plugs
- Additional clearance for billet main caps and low gear ratios
- Increased fluid capacity and reduced operating temperatures
- Includes instructions and proper cover mounting bolts(including metric if needed)
- Simple bolt-on installation
- Made in the USA

Though I don't see it on their website. I got one from them on a group buy at $142 shipped, call them up and ask them and they may give you the group buy price.
The picture above also has the CHE axle brace on it, which I don't think I'll need for regular street use.
I'm in the Navy, and in no way affiliated with PMP, just answering your question. Mods, feel free to edit or delete if necessary if improper vender "pimping" is suspected.

Here's a side shot. It's close, but I haven't heard of anybody rubbing the Panhard, even with lowered cars. I haven't installed mine yet, probably do that this weekend.

A couple of good options there. Thanks for the info. I was just looking at the FRPP online catalog yesterday and didn't see the S197 cover. I'll take another look. Besides looking nicer, it does add strength to your differential assembly. I had one on my '96. It was one of those that had the SVO letters embossed on it.
