Just for sheets and giggles, what would be needed if you wanted to add say the cammer or the big daddy 514cu engine ford racing has that puts out a whopping 625hp? Anything like a new tranny, etc?

THe 514.... well the list of changes you would have to make is to long so we'll not worry about that

you're also going to have to pay attention to the rest of the drive line. the stock tranny won't handle that kind of HP very long. You're going to need something beefier... like a T-56 6 speed that is built for 500+ hp.... like the one out of the Viper. .... just get the right bell housing and you're good to go.... I haven't looked but Ford Racing might even have it in the catalog. The stock tranny probably won't hold much more than 450 hp or so.
You're going to need a new driveshaft and yolks and heavier u-joints. You're rear end will probably not hold up either... I think stock, they'll only hold about 500hp. You'll have to look into a beefier locker and axles. Then you're going to want to reinforce your body with sub fram connectors and such because there's going to be a lot of twisting. I know this chasis is a lot stiffer than the previous generations, but I don't know how many test mules had 625HP.
Not to rain on your parade, brutha.... but have fun with it... it's going to be big $$$
You can probably get away with just an engine swap for a while, but dropping the hammer on the rest of the drive line will make it go belly up in short order....
Good times, though..... a man after my own heart.... you can never have too much hp.
