Every time I step on the gas, I get this weird sucking noise coming from the motor...

Any ideas of what this could be? Is it the stock intake system? I doubt it though...

Anyone else have this problem?

 

Come on man... you can't just throw something like that out there!

More info please. It's probably nothing... just the turbo...

I don't think it's the turbo... that Whipple really make a sucking noise when you get on it.

Sorry I wrote it up quick because I was going somewhere...

Its a stock Stang. Its one week old. When I step on the gas, i hear this sound, could be stock air intake...it just sounds like a sucking noise...like air either going in or out, cant really pinpoint it..

its probably nothing more than a stock component...i never noticed the sound until today, but maybe its because before I just thought it was the fan turning on cooling the motor, because it didnt do it every time i stepped on the gas...

hope that made sense!? haha

anyway, taking it to the dealer tomorrow just to be safe, rather than sorry

 

I have the same noise... it's the gas tank emptying at an accelerated rate.

No honestly, thats most likely your intake. Wait until you get a JLT or C&L Intake with a tune, its even louder and better

 

Yeah, it is probably the intake sucking air in. Try hitting the gas in the garage or something with the hood up. If possible, get another person to listen while you rev it up. The V8 will pull quite a bit of air in, so it is no suprise that you can hear it.

I concur, the sound is more noticable the JLT - which is a good thing, more air, more hp...

 

Dude you must have really good ears to hear that stock intake sucking air

 

My stock intake made a little "sucking" noise and my Steeda intake really makes a loud sucking noise until the slp's overpower it with it's own noise.

 

soooo true... even when they are stock.

 

As others have said it's normal, especially if you're not used to driving a v8-powered performance-oriented car. All the auto makers go to great lengths to make the intake systems quiet to meet noise restrictions and minimize complaints from owners. What some folks might find objectionable is music to my ears though.
