Best time with the 4.10 was 9.04, as I recall weather was in the 50's.
Last night weather in the 50's and dropping, my very first run with the 91 Diablo tune tweaked a/f as it was too lean.
60' 2.145
330 5.923
1/8 9.032 @ 79.55
I believe I was getting a bit more HP out of the tune and the air helped for sure.
Sticky tires and or the exhaust mods/MMR intake I'm doing this week "should" put me into the 8's easily.
towards the end of the night I added one degree of global spark and banged out 3 hotlapped runs of 9.1x at 80mph. Wasn't great off the line, 2.2x 60 times but once it hooked the pull in 2nd and 3rd was great.
My opinion for my circumstances and situation (how's that for heading off the "assinine" replies...) the 4.10 was a waste of money.
8's here I come!

Well you know Chris, some people who really know what there talking about kinda agree with you. I think it's turning out to be more of a "feel" mod, than one that helps your strip times.
I've seen people pulling good times either way
Are you starting to get your tunes straightened out? I know you were having a heck of time getting anything out of your tunes.

Mine made 8.7's with my 4.10's, although I think the 3.73 is still probably the best all around gear for street/strip.....What were your 4.10 times before? Your upcoming mods should get ya smiling for sure!!

I know you drove and auto, but I am going to a 1/8 mile race with a stick, and am wondering, do you make it to third gear?. Or do you stay in 2nd?
Why I am asking is like the 1/4 mile. If I rememebr right, it is on the border of shifting to fourth.

We swapped them back and I loaded the r18 diablo 91 tune back into my car and dyno'ed it again with a 3rd gear pull to get around the TC flashing. Well, guess what. Put down 252 in 3rd gear. I figured from deciphering the 4th gear run that I was putting down 255 stock. Went back and looked at an earlier run in 3rd and it was at 235. Soooooo. Somewhere I picked up around 17 horse. I was also really lean with just the stock tune. Still have the factory airbox and it's lean. We rich it up via the tool expecting to lose HP. Nope. Same numbers.
What happened? I have no idea. Short of flashing the unit back to an earlier tune to see if I lose HP I can only assume (yeah, I know) that for whatever reason the early tunes weren't working for me and now they do.
I don't think I'm going to get big gains from the MMR but it looks cool, and with the C&L on I could hear the throttle body SNAPPING open when I nailed it. Never hear that with the stock air box. We'll see.
I'll still try to get a tune from Alternative Auto when the xcal2 comes out due to his work with the auto. I think I'd be well into the 8's/13's if the tranny was tuned as well.

Please reply more
My best was 9.04 with lousy 60 times. Typical was 9.1x to 9.3s. That's stock except for tune and the gear.
Best I could do in the 1/4 was 14.06, but that was with suspect tunes. Everything else was stock except the gear.

In the 1/4 it shifts a little before the line, and with the rev limit up you can just get by in 3rd but I don't know if it helps or not. Haven't done enough tests yet.

not arguin with the results that the poster got from going back to stock...but...
if gears are just a feel mod, then explain how they and a pred 91 tune got me a 13.26 @ 106.6
im not a very good driver either, only thing i can do well is powershift
i am and always will be a believer in the power of the gear

Don't do a dyno run in third gear. It's WRONG. You need to have a 1:1 ratio to get accurate numbers. You're torque converter shouldn't flash if you ease it up in 4th with the overdrive off.
But you saw your gains, so that's good too. Just know that your 255 is really 270-275.
See Blazing Saddles new run in fourth. He got the numbers he expected, and then some

Friday afternoon I'm planning on installing the x-pipe, mmr intake and the new r21 Predator tune. I'll do a 4th run after we get it as good as it gets and hopefully will still make it to the track that night.

You are comparing a standard to a auto and they are totally different animals in this car.
