before surgery, I'd change the oil and be certain to add the 'friction modifier' additive... I changed diff oil in my 140,000 mile mark VII, just because it was chattering a little on corners, and it got worse, read a bit, found out about the friction modifier(little tiny bottle) added that and it was quiet as new till we scrapped it years later.
