Tuner Kits?
Tuner Kits?
Tuner kits worth looking into? I mean I think I can buy the injectors, tuner, and fuel pumps for less then it would cost to be a complete "kit". Any opinions? Just something I was thinking about.
I think that is the best way to go so you can pick what you want. But don't just get the tuner kit to be cheap. Get good components to go with the s/c. There not cheap but I would suggest getting the gt500 fuel pumps...You have the bug soo bad I can feel it
Yeah... I got the bug bad. But I know I'm doing good by waiting it out some. Atleast I'm telling myself that. At least I got my long tubes and prochamber going in this week. That should hold me off from a few days. Then I'll really want the s/c'er. Mac tubes are 1.75", perfect for forced induction!
haha It never ends
Thats sounds like a good setup. Sorry to add someting else to your list but you might want to add a fp,boost, and wideband gauge to your list. My wideband is most useful. I didn't add a fp gauge because I got the gt500 pumps to kinda rule it out. If I went with a bap I probably would have gotten a fp gauge.
I got the tuner kit since I wanted to use the Xcal II (already owned one) with a custom dyno tune instead of the Xcal 1 with canned tune. Ended up buying the MAF for cheap from a Ford parts website, got a great deal on the injectors off ebay, and the HTO's from a group buy at a discount, so saved enough money on buying the stuff seperately to get a custum dyno tune for about the same price as the complete kit. I also already owned two Xcal II's, so didn't need the Xcal 1 that came with the kit with the canned tune that I wouldn't have used anyway.
So for me, it just made sense to get the tuner kit.

I'll be buying one with a s/c deal.
