The time for new gears is approaching...
So the rear end is whining about wanting new gears. I guess I just need the gears, an install kit, the gear oil, and a good installer. I'm thinking I'm gonna go with 373s. Is there any reason that I should go with another ratio? Thanks guys

When I first got my car and was still NA , I got 3.73's because that's what I had on my 90 and I though they were perfect. But these cars don't have quite the low end torque my 90 did and I started wishing I had gone with 4.10's instead. Now that I'm S/C'd I'm glad I went with the 3.73's , so you may want to consider what your future mods are going to be before deciding on a gear ...

i did 4.30's on my 07. Loved them, figured if i was willing to do 4.10's, why not go up a tiny bit more! first gear was sill good, top speed sucked, but bouncing the limiter in 5th at 140-145 mph is plenty here in the states. dont fear the gear!

I don't know how many miles you're at, but i'd recommend rebuilding the trak lok while you've got the diff opened up if you're due. I neglected to do that on my gear install at 70k and had to open it back up when it failed.
I love the 4.10 gear but can see how you might want something lower if you do a lot of highway driving or plan to go FI.

I have UDPs sitting in a box in the garage, but probably not going to install. I want to go with lopey cams and I fear the lower idle might cause problems with the compressor or alternator. Have a lot of folks been running both long term?
