Super trapp mufflers ?
Back in the day I knew people who used to run them on their Nova, Chevelle, and GTOs. Have not seen nor heard much of them lately. Be curious to see what they sound like today with all the technology changes.
I used to run a '73 2.6L V6 Capri with a SuperTrapp on a custom exhaust.
The setup had headers, 2 1/2 collectors, 2 1/2 mid pipes joining into a single 4" with a SuperTrapp on the end. I think I had about 11 discs in it.
It was the loudest exhaust I ever had on the car. Previously I ran dual Thrush straight throughs.
I got a fix-it ticket for the SuperTrapp, and a speeding ticket on top of that. The cop pulled me over and yelled at me.
"DO YOU KNOW HOW LOUD YOUR CAR IS?!?? I HEARD YOU OVER A MILE AWAY!!!"
I played dumb and said, "I'm just a poor student. My muffler rusted out, and I don't have enough money to fix it yet."
So he tried to look under my car. Except the car was lowered 2"+ on custom built coilovers, and another ~3/4" on 235/50's T/As. And he had a big fat belly, so he couldn't crawl far enough under the car to see.
He gave me a fix-it ticket on the exhaust. And I had to go to traffic school for the speeding violation.
To "fix" the exhaust, I got a sheet of perforated stainless steel sheet metal and rolled it into a 2 1/2" cylinder. I wired a bunch of ceramic fiber mat on it, and slipped the whole thing inside the 4" Y-pipe. I stuck the SuperTrapp back on and left out all the discs except for 2.
I found a city cop and he signed off my fix-it ticket, no problem, haha.
Some time later, I took out the Y-pipe exhaust and put in an H-pipe with dual glasspacks and side exits. That was a lot quieter and easier on the ears.

Super Trapp mufflers. I haven't heard anyone talk about them since I was in high school. And I graduated in 1972 if that tells you about how long ago that was.
Came accross them on the Summit Racing site, with the 05+ muffler position they might just be a good idea, but still look like a custom application. Way, way back a friend ran these on a V8 Triumph ( very fast & no space for mufflers ), sounded great, no raspiness or drone...
