I'm not going to get in a net argument with you as it is like competing in the special olympics...But...
Who said the 996 was stock?? Who said it doesn't see time at the race track?? Who said it's not a full out race bike?? Who said it hasn't been "radared" (at the race track)?? :bang: I guess I should have been more "clear".
That is why I asked him to take a trip with me because I wanted to see what my Pony could do. So go verify all what you want...This post was about high speed stability and I figured that taking my pony up to 175 mph would "qualify" me to post my thought's on the subject.
Like Tony said, I also invite any magazine "wieners" to strap thierself in Natasha and I'll teach them about drag coieficiant....they should go write another article funded by another various advertiser...

I think that would be fun! I could order up a G-Tech maybe and get to know how to use it?

I am not hear to argue, but simply I don't believe you. I will be as blunt as saying, until you radar your car, your claim of running 175 mph is BS. Your car simply doesn't have enough power to overcome the GT's marginal aerodynamics. Let's look at a C5 Z06 for example, I can prove that it's top speed is ~171 mph. Your car has considerably less hp and worse aerodynamics, but you claim to have run roughly 4 mph faster. Phsyics aren't in your favor here.

Lot's of open road for that kind of stuff here in AZ too. Heck, not even that far out of town either
I really do need to get one of those G-Timers. The one time I know I took it over 145, I was certainly curious as to just how fast it was but had no way of knowing.
It took a couple of seconds for the speedo to register again, that's all I know.
I'm still fairly close to stock too, just axle backs, an air filter and a tune, nothing else.

And I won't loose any sleep about an unprovable BS internet claim. Magazine hold way much more credibility than a guy claiming to run 175 mph in a 3.90 geared GT with 313 rwhp.

Some people are making it sound like this car (the 05 Mustang in general) hit's some sorta mystical brick wall at 147 mph

C'mon down to the land of open roads and see for yourself
OR
I know there's plenty of open vacant roads in southern Illinios, find out what your car will really do.

Your 175+ MPH rocket has one too...where it is, ???

I was close, but I will find it...

I was just there a couple weeks ago... too bad I didn't find out from you where this road was beforehand. But, I'll be back in Vegas for the NHRA event Oct 20-23... maybe I'll need to take a test drive on your "track".

Just out of curiosity...what gear were you running, if not 3.90 and did you happen to get a tach reading?
