Shaftmasters is thinking of offering a "group buy"
[quote=2bone123;1099244]Hey Robert, I'm in Mi. and am wondering if you do installs and if so what you charge on a 3.5 with adaptor plate?[/quote
We don't do installs but we work with shops in either Westland or Warren that could do the installation for $100.00. We just stay too busy manufacturing and repairing driveshafts to take on installations as well.

Great information. Good to know. To think I almost pulled the trigger on a Spydershaft. I had just seen a post somewhere where the crush sleeve got crushed and spewed fluids on the dyno. Now I better understand why.

Tom, if it makes you feel any better, I have an '05 Mustang GT too..
Oh and Tom, don't be envious. Just think of the huge car payment I have. It's a really big pill to swallow every month.....
Scott, it is a two-piece. I haven't examined both in detail but superficially, they look identical. I thought I read somewhere that the GT500 driveshaft is shorter..... I also read a while back that very early '07 GT500s came with a one-piece....

I hear ya... I probably couldn't afford the insurance let alone the payment LOL!!

Tom
1-piece driveshaft (adapter plate is fine) is on my short list of mods for the near future, so I'm interested in one, as well. They've been a little pricier than I would like up til now, so I'm very price sensitive. Something in the $400-$450 range perhaps???
What are the advantages of a one piece driveshaft, compared to the stock driveshaft? Quicker throttle respone?? I am also lowered 1.5" in the front and 2" in the back, will this pose a problem? Also, would safety loops be needed or recommended?
It's less than half the weight of the stocker, so you'll have less horsepower loss through the drivetrain. You'll also have a lighter car. It's also stronger, so it's able to support more power. A front loop would be recommended. Very easy to install, especially if you're replacing the driveshaft at the same time. For best performance, with a drop, you'll want to check your pinion angle. If it's out of spec, you can fix it with an adjustable UCA since you already have the LCA's.
