SCT Tuners X2 vs X3, what's the difference?

Hi all, I am thinking about getting VMP Tunings Roush tune and pulley setup. It comes with the SCT X2 and was wondering what the difference is between the X2 and the X3 tuners? I have looked on SCT site but whated to get some info from fellow Stangers that have used these turners. Thanks...

Sounds like from looking at VMP's site that the X3 is for future setups but I would guess it's backwards compatible and just has the extra features for newer cars? Try giving SCT a call and see what they say.

reading the SCT forums.....there are a few problems w/ sct 3..... might stay w/ whats proven. sct3 has a faster tuning download, but whats 60 sec.

Yes, sounds like they have some issues. The X2 does everything I need. I think I'll let them work the bugs out of the X3.

I have not heard much about the LiveWire or the X-Cal 3 being compared to the X-Cal 2. If you think 60 seconds for flashing the PCM is bad, I have to wait 60 seconds to program the old blue tuner with a custom tune, and then I have to wait 5 minutes for it to flash my PCM.

Unless you just have to have data logging, stay with the X2. I have an X2 for my Marauder, and an X3 for my Mustang. The X3 has been a problem. The X2 has worked like a champ from day one.
