I think the t/s is a better s/c but for the price and the slight difference in performance is why I went with a centri.

SlamMan02 about your question with my gears. I had 4.10's with the Procharger. It was great with 4.10's. With the Whipple I'm back to 3.55's. I'd use 4.10's if I went to the track more often, but it's only once in a while. I just swapped rears with my son last Saturday morning. He needed the gears, I didn't anymore.

The numbers from Anthonys post are pretty close except the 3500 rpm torque and hp

Hey bro, I loved my centrifugal. I would recommend Procharger anytime. I just like the feel of a big block. Ford doesn't give us that option anymore.

You should see the numbers down lower...like right off idle. The TS torque is mean as hell. That's good and bad. You need to hook. The Procharged car lacked traction too, but now I need drag radials along with the 3.55's that went back in on the street. Hopefully when the weather gets warm the traction won't be as bad as I think it's going to be. The thing I like the most about the TS is while driving at lower rpm's like in 4th or 5th gear the acceleration is amazing without having to rev.

So anthony what would you recommend after having both TS/Centri and knowing that I am going to be doing almost ALL street driving with an occassional visit to the autox course, open tracking at Texas Motorspeedway, and dragstrip...BUT I have 3.90s

Its really down to the Whipple or Novi2200
My current goals are to run 11s without breaking a sweat on stock internals...eventually beefing everything up and running mid 10s.

I think the Novi 2200 will be the best. For autoX, the torque of the TS will make you more prone to spinning around.

The Novi 2200 will be more efficient on the top end, and still be a lot more driveable during autoX.

Both blowers are still great for street driving.

I think what it comes down to is do you want to have to rev it to make serious power or not? Also, the centri is going to make some noise at lower engine speeds like at idle. I think the Whipple kit is engineered overall more like an OEM set up too. I prefer the Whipple. 3.90 gears will work ok with either blower. The Procharger's idle/off idle noise got on my nerves. The Whipple's noise under acceleration is right up my alley. I dig that. Any road racing would be much more beneficial with the Whipple. You'll pull out of the curves like an animal, less need to shift.

The Procharger definitely has a so-so noise at idle. Sounds like something is wrong haha.

Who doesn't like the sound of the Whipple under acceleration

I know I love it!

Anthony, thank you for your honest comments! As usual you are a source of information, with both experience and honesty!

I gotta say I think its funny that most of the "hardcore" guys will openly swear that a TS is worlds better than a centri because of the low-end torque, but then you have to pry them open to get them to admit that most of them run drag radials with lower gears and most of them won't drive in the rain because of that torque..... that's cool but not my idea of an ideal daily driver, IMO.

Yeah Im really torn...I can get the Whipple for a really badass price (Not sure if I should disclose the price or not- Cause they are a vendor over at Modularfords? PM me if you would like to know)

-Yet I know the Novi can be had for cheaper from joeblow or something like that

I really find pros and cons about each...Since Late 2002 I have been in love with Terminators and I can't get enough of the pullied/ported eaton whine not to mention the KB scream so I KNOW the whipple would be awesome in that sense not to mention from the entire power output standpoint.

Yet I really love the noise most centri's make at IDLE, and I would run a bypass valve so I could get a similar noise of a BOV. And I think ultimately the Novi2200 is a bigger blower, and could support more power safely in the years to come. So who knows- its all a coin toss.

I almost lost it last night. It was a little wet on the roads and I was coming around a bend, layed on the throttle and the azz end tried to whip around on me.

Either one will work fine as a daily driver. I liked both set ups. I do prefer the Whipple though.

YEAH, I know Tom.

Especially after seeing this from ST Motorsports http://s197forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3415

I'm definitely leaning towards the Whipple, but like I said..Everything is really up in the air. I might surprise everyone and build a custom Twin turbo setup that incorporates a Whipple like Helions new system for the 03-04 cobras.

Well now that's changing the subject....... but I've said it before and I'll say it again, if I could build another car for myself it would be with a turbo and not a blower.

I'd be going to H E double hockey sticks..... Hellion!

I saw that this morning on modularfords. That's one hell of a big gain. After I do a bottom end I might consider that intake set up.

After reading this entire thread, I've been re-assured of my desire.

I WANT A WHIPPLE!
