2. Tom seems wishy washy. Don't get me wrong he spent the money and earned the right to be picky but he lets way too many people influence his thinking rather than deal with the experts that keep giving him info as well. It is a case of only believing or hearing what you want to.

Tom said that Granatelli and Morgan at Granatelli were great to talk too and I agree. Like I said I called 4 or 5 other shops and nobody was open so Granatelli was like a last choice. Perhaps he was god sent because I feel like I ultimately made the right choice. If GMS let's me down I will let everyone know but if it works like I expect you will hear about that as well

It's ok to call it as you see it- as long as you see it correctly. Otherwise, spreading false information around is not a good idea. And actually, I set the record straight on the blowers, not Mr. G. You can call me Mr. T. if you like.

Just remember the reason why Tom (in the other thread) is being influenced regarding his GMS turbo kit is because ITS STILL NOT WORKING the way it should LOL..... If it would have fired right up and performed like advertised I'm sure he wouldn't continue to be messing with it for weeks now.

Like I said previously, I hope you have better luck with the kit than other people have had- that's all I said.

Oh and this is just personal opinion- you're statement about calling other shops on New Year's Eve and GMS being the only open shop and therefore the last choice so you purchased their kit..... that is the LAST reason why I would spend $5k on a kit from anyone. BUT AGAIN, I hope it works out for you.

I am a mechanical idiot and do not profess to understand how or why any of the discussed power adders work and why one is better at some things than others. All I can add to this discussion is from my point of view as an owner.

11/06 I dropped my car off one morning to Downs Motor Sports here in Toms River for the FRPP/Whipple HO supercharger. I picked my car up the next day. In the year since then in day to day driving it is as reliable as always and it runs like a bat out of hell when I step on it. I do not go to the track, but I can tell you I have not lost any of the (very few in case my wife or teenage sons are reading this) stop light races I have had.

So from my point of view for ease of ownership, reliability and kick *** power you cannot go wrong with the FRPP/Whipple HO.

Nice, how much boost were you running to get the 475/458 numbers?

I think your picking on Granatelli just a little. Toms did say he was happy. Even when JAFO used Tom's words - You took the words back out of Tom’s mouth. Tom admittedly likes to tinker and has made several changes on his own. You Keep Saying ITS STILL NOT WORKING and THAT IS NOT TRUE. Tom agreed he should have called GMS while he was on the dyno. Had he called to say the boost was spiking from 6 to 13 psi - We would have immediately known what the issue was and told him he needed to put a boost reference line to the bottom of the waste gate. Once the boost was stable we could have then looked at other potential issues. While I agree the boost came in a bit lazy, the initial biggest issue was the boost jumping to 13psi and scaring him the heads would blow a gasket. Tom called and spoke to both Morgan and I several times before he ever went to the dyno so we already had an open line of communication. I told Tom he did not need to boost reference the bottom on the waste gate because the spring should have balanced it. So basically Tom went against the installation instructions that say to put the boost line on the bottom of the waste gate and I agreed it should probably work. So I guess my bad for agreeing with Tom that he could skip a step. In any case I would have been able to immediately identify that issue when or if he called while on the dyno

Boy JR after reading all the info in both of Tom's threads, you sure seem to have all the answers now.... I bet he woulda been grateful to have them earlier. Please don't come into this thread and get another one shut down- you've almost done that in Tom's 2nd thread already today.

It takes two to tango - you chose to bash and never lift. I am just trying to help Tom. I stayed out of this thread for 3 or 4 pages until Tom asked me to view it and reply. Cut me some slack. I only jumped in this time because you started telling JAFO more SPAM about GMS.

I have also told Tom on this thread, the other thread and in PM's that I feel he should pick one or 2 guys and listen to them. All too often there is really bad advise given on boards with no real data to back it up. Regardless of what I say it comes off as bias. How can I possibly help anyone when you hang of every word I say or guys like JAFO only to say - that's not true - ya see - ya see.

JR, it's this kind of BS that gets you in trouble. Please show me where I have bashed you or your company- where I have bashed and "never lift" as you put it. What "SPAM" as you put it was I telling JAFO, other than he was simply wrong about his Paxton/Vortech info and that I hoped he has better luck with his kit than other people have had- I even PURPOSELY told him to do his own research, I wasn't going to go into details. How am I hanging off "every word you say", telling them "that's not true" as you put it? What have I posted here, or in the other thread, that is demeaning to you or your company?

Tom281 has been one of the most helpful guys for me on this forum, so to say he "never lifts" is ridiculous!

Does anyone else think that "JAFO" is somehow connected with GMS?

Hmm...
First Mysteriously JAFO shows up and gets GMS back regarding all issues of customer service/company part distribution and performance...Knowing a remarkable amount about Tom's Turbo situation for only having 9 posts in the 3 days he's been a member...

Next GMS trys to strike back at Tom281 (Supercharger) and pulls JAFO next to him in a way to support all his opinions...

-Now Im not jumping to conclusions but there has to be a conspiracy going on!

Edit: HAHA, I guess we all three noticed it, now I know Im not the crazy one

Short and to the point. Tom may be a nice guy but not to JR. I purchased a GMS kit and I guess I am somehow defending my choice. Tom is a spin doctor though. He basically told me to do my searches and or homework but steered me towards problems Tom has. But the thing is Tom has stayed loyal to JR and GMS. I agree my posts seem bias to GMS but I have no connection. I am a 40 year old guy that can finally afford my dream cars. My TT Vette was purchased used but in great condition. My Saleen is my first brand new car.

J.R. and I are about the same age. When I got my first Mustang and purchased a Vortech, J.R. was all Paxton and Paxton and Vortech hated each other. So J.R. was the enemy. But through it all over the last 20 years I have watched many come and go but Granatelli is still standing, still supporting other racers and still very much approachable. I ask you all to tell me who else fits in this template. Ron Coleman and Skooter brother from Comp cams probably fit the mold too but they are much older. I was also the first to say that J.R. comes off like a bit of a jerk on the boards but to talk to him is a totally different story. His customer service is incredible. Plus his flying to FL and helping Tom seemed pretty stand up.

If I am misreading TOM281 then so be it. Like I said before this whole internet blog thing is new to me.

anthony05gt - you have been cool the entire time.

SlamMan02 - I read a lot before my 1st post. As an example this post has 3982 reads but only 190 posts. I was part of the 3982 before I became part of the 190

Hey Jafo, to reiterate what I've said before starting from my first posts since you joined the discussion:

1) Welcome to the site.

2) You're statements regarding the Vortech and Paxton blowers were incorrect.

3) I hope you have good luck with your turbo kit or as I put it earlier, better luck than other people have had. I've been saying this with all sincereness- it is no fun having problems with a car. I am NOT saying that you absolutely will, I am only saying as I put it- good luck.

That's it..... nothing demeaning to you or to JR. I don't feel like I've bashed him or you- I certainly don't feel like a spin doctor ( ); once again, good luck with your install.
