Radiator Hoses (Steel Braided)
I've been changing the black rubber hoses in my engine compartment slowly with Steel Braided Hoses. I've PM'ed several other members who have done this and they have sent pictures. Many if not all of them show the upper hose coming off the Radiator and go to the passenger side Front of the engine. Mine goes all the way to the driver's side. I've been told I only need 12" of AN-28 Braided Hose. I've taken off the upper hose and measure it and with bends I'll need 36" of Hose.
Did they change the position on the 07 models?????
Anybody knows any place that sells Braided Hose for less than 19.71 a foot (AN-28).
Any help would be nice. Thanks

What about sleeving them? Spectre sells stainless steel sleeving for pretty cheap. If it's just for looks. If you're looking for better performance, than I wouldnt. Just a thought.

When removing any of these hoses, do you have to drain/refill any fluids? Also, you have to cut the braided hoses to length, right?
What are the correct tubing sizes/lengths, and are they the same for the V6?

I know it's a PITA, I wasn't trying to sell him any! I just wanted to see if it was just a look thing, or if he's looking to do it with hoses.
That price on 28 an line is cheap! I think its like 22/23 bucks a foot here at the shop.
Yes you'd have to drain fluids, and pull the hoses. Cut them to length, and then attatch the appropriate ends (which is fun ) and that's it. The hardest part is actually the ends. Wrap the braided hose in a good strong masking tape when cutting, so it doesn't fray the edges. That stuff will look really sharp!

2007 has thermostat integrated in water cross-over... so it doesn't need that "floating" housing anymore.... which is stupid anyway.
after installing my S/C to '07, I NEEDED to go with the pre-'07 housing, since Saleen cross-over doesn't have thermostat either!

The only fluids I have needed to drain so far is the Radiator. The overfill hose if you are quick enough needs not to be drained but the big Radiator hoses you will need to drain. I'm not replacing the power steering hoses as they look to be special connectors at the pump.
