I've now had a GMS CAI/MAF on my '07 since August...no problems since day 1, still very happy with over 5,000 miles since the install.

All I can say is thanks to those that come back here to support GMS. TO ANYONE THAT HAS HAD A PROBLEM WITH A GMS PART - we are alwasy here to serve you - we do stand behind the product 100% Here is a link to Fuego http://www.granatellimotorsports.com/05mustang/fuegoflashtuner.htm

As for a few customers that had trouble with the CAI - look at it like this, we have now shipped 1113 units as of today and had issues with 18. 16 of them were handled same day or 2. Last 2 guys turned into test cars for multiple GMS parts

We recognize there are tons of choices but the GMS customers here will all tell you our kit MAKES POWER not false promises

Hey, for all that are dissapointed with the GMS air filter, I found the K&N universal filter that is almost exactly the same size. P/N# RF-1032 found here http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?Prod=RF-1032
you can order it from Advance Autoparts for $52. THere are some clearance issues with the heat shield you might have to finesse a bit, but its far superior to whats included with the CAI.

I have the GMS CAI. I am just curious what disappointment might exist that you refer to. Appearance? A non-oiled type? Filtration concerns?

Some people were complaining about all of the above (non-oiled, filtration concerns, the relatively cheap feeling construction quality and appearance of the filter). I'm not sure if they were further back in this one or another Granatelli bashing thread. Personally, my only concern was the filtration ability and the fact that it's non-oiled. Besides, K&N is the gold standard by which all other filters are measured.

Just got this filter today. No clearance issues with the heat shield and unlike the GMS filter it avoids my ABS lines all together.

I also obtained this K&N filter (ordered mine online from Parts America). Very pleased with Cavero's suggested filter. It did take a little work to install it, but it does totally take care of the interference with the abs lines. I've got a good 2.5" of clearance now. Filter looks great and the metal chrome top really adds to appearance. The Granatelli filter is OK, but this K&N just looks and feels superior. Seems to flow better too.

I have not been happy with the way the heat shield stem mounts into the hole at the bottom using the stock filter's transferred little rubber piece; the heat shield never felt supported from the bottom. I removed the stock rubber piece and replaced it with a stack of 5 large neoprene rubber washers and 1 smaller neoprene washer to hold the larger neoprene washers against the heat shield. Also wrapped the bottom of the stem also with electrical tape to ensure sure all washers stay in place. Worked well, has really stablized the CAI tube with less vibration. The tube's slope was a bit reduced which made the K&N filter easier to install.
