Mine were replaced in July 05 and I haven't had a pop since. I had a spring clunking issue which went away when my springs were replaced but that was back in April.

My suspension is nowhere near stock either.

Thumbs down clunk, clunk, clunk...

It sounds like there are two different discussions here, regarding popping and clunking. I've had a clunk under the front/middle right side since day one. It's driving me bonkers! It's the only thing that I hate about my Stang.

I guess you could say I had a clumping sound !... cross between a pop and a clunk!....To me this makes no real sense but I installed my strut tower brace about 1500 miles ago!.. and it stoped!.........

I don't believe strut tower has anything to do with clunking/popping or clumping. It's definitely the strut mounts/caps. They are PLASTIC. P-L-A-S-T-I-C parts on 3,500 lbs car... wtf?

hi all,

is it 100% certain that the steeda strut mounts solved this problem and make the GT stang feel SOLID and non-clunking on bumps?

its driving me nuts and i had a bmw friend in my stang last night and it was a bit embarrassing! LOL

thanks!

Luxury cars are solid over bumps... muscle cars aren't designed with the same objectives in mind. If ya don't wanna feel the bumps, drive FASTER!

YES IT IS 100% CERTAIN! I did it, and it doesn't make a noise over any size bumps

My shop was an official Steeda Shop, and they gave them to me for $250. Just an FYI, they can probably pass on a better price if you ask.

dude, that's just the loose sway bar end links. do a quick search, there's a thread with a diagram all about it. sounds kind of like your car has creaky old man joints syndrome...i had it too, tightened up the bolt and were were just like new (better then new).

also had the strut mount popping issue, had it replaced under the TSB, just recently came back about a couple of months of driving.

My son started it as a joke, and now my girlfriend imitates it whenever we come to a stop... "clunk" <sigh> "What do you expect? It's a Ford."

$300. Dang it.

Just wanted to share this other option with you all. These are more expensive than the steeda, but, they offer a full range of caster AND camber adjustment and they have urethane spring isolating pearches already.
