Just called Ford's 800 number to check on the build status of my '05 Mustang GT. I fully expected to hear "Clean and Unscheduled" again, like I have now for three months (I ordered back on January 4th). However, the message this time was, "your car has been serialized and is awaiting scheduling." Yes!! Finally!!

My question is, how long after being serialized is it usually running until scheduling, production, and delivery to the dealer? Someone in our local Mustang club recently got an '05 Mustang GT equipped identically to mine (even to the same color!). He told me that it took about three weeks after serialization until his was built and delivered. Does this sound about the average amount of time?

I've been waiting all winter, and I've really got spring fever now to get my baby!

Serialized 3-17
"Supposed" build date 4-11

It just seems to go on and on.........

 

Depends on where you live...here in Texas it has been taking 6-10 weeks from the time you order.

 

Yes it depends on allocation of your dealership, priority number your dealer puts on it and how far you live from the plant. I live in Ohio so it should not take long on a car carrier to get to my dealership. I can drive to AAI in about 3 hours from my dealership.

 

Now this is some S197 GT Tech & Performance. Three weeks seems a bit short. About two weeks after build week.
