Ok, so at FAMOSO today I ran a 12.300 with a 1.647 60', but at only 103.81.....I lifted at 1,000 feet because something wasn't right. So, based on prior experience, I checked the driver side front spark plug, and yep, its melted again.
So, my question is has anyone ran into this? I find it strange the the driver side front is the only plug I am losing and all the others look fine. Plug was 1 step colder then stock, 96 octane gas (5 gal 91, 5 gal 100). What fuel pump is everyone using out there???
Any info on pumps, or theories on why only the driver side front plug????

Are you doing any datalogging during the runs? Fuel Pressure isnt neccessarily your problem here.
Also, what shot are you using? If its a 75-100 with Zex your fuel pressure should still be "A OK".

I am currently running the 125. Never had a problem with the 100hp setting, have many, many passes on the 100 and the plugs always looked great. Even many passes on the 125, but most of them was 1/8 mile, so I am guessing the lean condition really doesn't develop unless a full 1/4 mile pass. That to me says lack of fuel, vs too hot of a plug or to much timing, etc. I was also running a N20 tune with less timing.

My uninformed guess is lean condition. Can you datalog the AF ratio? More fuel before you melt a piston! <chuckle>

at 1000 feet is where my knock sensor went off but I put all 8 plugs out of their misery.
Where do you have your nozzle installed? There could always be a distribution issue.

darn, all eight plugs?? Did you end up finding out what the problem was in your case? I have my nozzle installed about 8 inches before the throttle body. I guess I will start with the fuel system only because even if its not the problem, at least when I do upgrades in the future, I know the fuel will be there.
