Oil level after dealer service

Hey guys,
After my first service I notice the oil level is right up at the top of the dip stick fill zone... manual says it should be in the middle. Took it back and they said it would make no difference, but I wonder if too much oil is also harmful?

Thx

Top of the range should be no big deal.

It's always at the top of the range after each oil change.

It should be somewhere in between the two marks at all times. If it is at the top, that is good because it will consume a little oil over the course of 3-5K miles. At the top is full, at the bottom means add 1 qt. Perfectly normal. In fact, I would feel ripped off if the oil level was not at the full level after an oil change...that would mean they did not give you the full 6 qts.

Yeap +1 that is where you want it after an oil change. It will lose some with time.

I usually change my own oil and I let it drain for quite a while so most of the old oil gets out. When I have someone else do it , they never let it drain very long and when I check the level it's always a little higher than when I do it myself because there's more of the old oil left ...
