Thats essentially what I am running right now. I wouldn't think there would be much of a difference between x pipes and LTs as far as sound goes anyways

It trumpets a lot over 3000 rpms, but down low it sounds meeaan. However, there is a severe drone right below 3000 rpms, depending on how fast you accelerate. Also bad drone around 60 mph. I mean to the point to where if I drive the car long enough through city streets, I start getting a headache. NOw don't get me wrong, I like the sound enough to keep the LMs on there, but this is not a permanet combo.

Well SLP sells the whole kit from headers to tips for $1600 shipped plus 100 for my guy to install it all...I really want to go with a good but cheap H-pipe

You could give the H pipe a whirl. It makes everything deeper, but is not as loud as an X pipe. Don had that setup and said the trumpets were horrific, but I am not sure if that was a catless H or not.....

If you're looking for a cheap H pipe, I know Summit sells the JBA one for $170. Not sure if that would work with SLP headers though. Or you could order the Pypes H pipe from Brenspeed and cut it to make it fit. Which is what I wish I would have done when I had mine

The pypes H pipe sounds so **** good with Flowmasters

You should have seen what MikeM's cat did when it was sitting behind my car when I started it. Never seen a cat run so fast in my life.

I really don't see difference between your previous combo (SLP LT, SLP LM, SLP catless X) and this new one... it's still LTs, no cats and LMs. But like I said, go ahead and try it... you might like it. But, it's my opinion that you'll get trumpeting with any combination that includes: (1) deleting the stocks cats, and (2) running LMs (or any straight-thru design muffler).

I thought I just answered this?

Just as a reminder, I had LTs, hi-flow cats and LMs, and it sounded like chit. If you haven't read this post, you might want to: http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?p=625421

Bottom Line: No stock cats + LMs = trumpets.

Next in line I think will be the Prochamber. Its been sitting in my garage for months now, and today I went and picked up some couplings to make up for how short the Prochamber is from the headers. So either tomorrow or Saturday will be setup number 10

PS...its not just LT's that produce the trumpeting...Shortys will too. I ran shortys, uncatted x, and straight pipes (basically LMs).

here's some clips when I had that set up-

one other- in this one, Rrobello is driving and filming (K&N intake, JBA shorty's, straight pipe). I am in front, so you can hear the differnce an uncatted xpipe makes.

yeah...its nice until your stuck at 3k RPM....then you'll get funny looks from everyone you drive by, next too, etc.

IMO....headers, uncatted x, and a pair of bassani mufflers would be a tad quieter but better sounding.

Thats the last setup that I tried, and that was the best sound I had overall. By that I mean it sounded good whether it was idling, or WOT. The drone was minimal, no tinny noise, and it sounded unlike anything else I'd heard. It is relatively quiet, which is why I ventured onward with my combinations. Quiet is not what I am looking for

I figured with no cats...it would be fairly loud. Does adding the bassani muffs really quiet it down that much?

wouldnt this be the sound youd be getting running your car with the cutouts when you're using them? obviously it would be even louder do to the echo under the car, but I am trying to figure out your exact setup.

LTs, no cats, and the cutouts=no mufflers correct?

are you running the xpipe or hpipe? I wonder the difference on the sound varying just the h and x
