My Dealer said CAI will NOT void warranty.........

Rene', if you have about $500-$600 to spare, get a programmer and a CAI. The first performance mod should be a programmer IMO. Not only will you be able to gain about 25HP with the programmer alone, but it will let you do any other future mods without a CEL, as well as making those mods perform better.

By the way (BTW) I am in the military, and you Mustangers are using acronyms and abbreviations, etc., to beat the band. You are at least as bad as the military in this habit. CAI comes to mind. It took me a while to figure it means cold air intake. Duh!
But this CAI thing and warranty issue is interesting. As I have ordered the V6, I would like to get a bit more pep out of it without spending much money. I figured I may have to wait out the warranty period. I am not sure that any HP or torque gain less than 20% would do much for me. So, in order to move the HP number from 210 to,say, 250 or better, what is the best bet????
Aside from dropping in a V8, I was thinking a good speed shop could turbocharge the V6. But, would that be cost effective vs the V8.
Or, can I gain enough power from, say, the CAI, tune chip, exhust, etc.?
Please advise on all of the above. :worship:

Sorry for the abbreviations, Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) but you'll get used to it around here. Saves a lot of typing time.
As far as mods for a V6, check the V6 Tech & Performance section of the forum. I know though that you can definitely get 40 HP with just bolt-ons. I would start out with a programmer like the SCT XCalibrator and then get a nice intake kit like the one from MMR (pictured below). The MMR intake will get you close to 20 RWHP, and it looks pretty sweet. The tune chip should get you another 20. I'd also add some exhaust... it won't get you more than 5-10 HP, but will get you a nicer sound and a better look from a nicer/bigger tip. Possibly even make your exhaust true dual exhaust to get even more power... just switch your rear bumper out with a GT bumper with the two cut-outs.
Switching out the engine or getting a turbo will both net you about the same results, but it's gonna cost thousands... you might as well just trade in your V6 for a GT if you really need that much power. You can spend a fraction of that on bolt-ons and get maybe half the power.

Thanks for the V6 info. Sounds like an easy fix. Even for an EOD guy.

As for the CAI. I personally love my Steeda. I know, I know....every time I mention Steeda I get dogpiled with the JLT and C&L folks, and then someone slings a MMR in there just for the fun of it. To each his own. I personally am quite pleased with the performance gains from it, I also like the way it looks.
Now I am actually going for the best of both worlds. I purchased a C&L intake tube and sent it out to a friend of mine that owns a metal polishing business. He said it would come back to me basically looking like chrome! If it turns out half as good as he says it will, I will probably get an extra set of cam covers and have him do them too, and also if I go with a bigger throttle body, it will get polished before it gets installed.
