Meziere install and the relay ignition-on sense wire

Where in the fuse box wiring did everyone tap into for the "relay ignition-on sense" wire?
Step 9 in the instructions says to "Disconnect the factory wiring harness (located on the passenger side firewall) and locate pin number 9 on the plug, indicated on the outside of the plug." but I'm sure they're referring to pre-05.
I read thread in this thread http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showth...eziere+install where it's mentioned to use one of the 2 red wires that enters the fuse box. I dug inside the three wire bundles that enters the right side of the fuse box and found one red wire in the larger, middle bundle. Just thought I'd post here before I go ahead and tap into it...

Thanks!

Is the water pump dificult to install??

To give you an idea of how competent I am, it took me 3 hours to install axle-backs - hahaaha.

If this is much more complicated than axle-backs then I probably wont be able to install the pump and will have to pay somebody.

Sounds like it can be tricky.

I just love how some people assume that you have access to a lift and tons of power tools and can rebuild a tranny - haha..

Well basic knowledge of wiring is required. Get the wiring kit. The HARDEST part is getting the **** bolts in, the bottom one in particular.

Sounds like my 1980's era Chilton manual for my Fox Stang:

FIX YOUR PROBLEM IN FOUR E-Z STEPS!

STEP ONE: Remove engine.
STEP TWO: Fix problem.
STEP THREE: Replace engine.
STEP FOUR: Wash hands.

Can somebody post detailed instructions on how to install this H2O pump.

I already have Steeda UDP installed so I need a shorter belt - that much I do know.

I'm thinking of doing this but my confidence level in my mechanical/electrical abilities is not high. It's also my only car and daily driver so it has to work !!

It took me about 5 minutes to get the bottom bolt in. hawgman told me the trick. Use a small piece of double-stick tape on the end of the ball-end allen wrench. The first time I tried it, the bolt fell off. Then I cleaned the wrench and the bolt head with some iso-alcohol, and it stuck nicely. Then it went right in on the first try.

BTW, I didn't even drain the coolant from the car. I had the Meziere sitting next to me, and a bucket handy (sitting where the air filter box was). Popped the stock WP out, dropped it in the bucket, and slipped the eH2O pump in. I lost maybe a quart of coolant (most of which was caught in a drip pan under the car).

This water pump is a god-send at the track, especially when combined with a remote switch for the radiator fan. I can cool the car down to under 170* in less than 5 minutes.

Yup, that bottom bolt is a piece of cake. All it took was being lazy and a little beer logic

If I understand correctly I'll need a shorter belt with the H2O pump since I already have a UDP installed? Or do I need a longer belt?

I think I need a shorter belt but I just want to make sure.

So basically when you take out the stock H2O pump, the coolant fluid will pour out of the hole until you install the the new H2O pump?

I'm beginning to think I can do this myself.

Should I do it?

A shorter belt: I picked up a Dayco #5060995 Poly Cog belt http://www.daycoproducts.com/daycowe...y_Cog?OpenForm. Others have used Goodyear Gatorback or just a regular serpentine belt. 99.5", but I read that someone had to use a 99" as they found 99.5 a little too long.

That's correct. I think I'm going to drain mine first.

I think I'm going to be doing mine Wednesday night if you want any more info. I picked up the add-a-fuse thingy from crappy tire tonight. Still trying to figure out what to lube the o-ring on the H2O pump with though. White lithium? Synthetic grease for polyurethane bushings? I think someone said aviation grease but crappy tire didn't have that. They did have water resistant Marine grease! Oh wait, I have some plumbers synthetic grease...that should do the trick.
Reminder to self: pick up 6mm ball end allen wrench tomorrow....

The T-tap comes with the optional relay wiring kit. Did you get the kit?
