Im back... but I still got issues

Alright, its been a while but I finally got to take a few trips down the 1/4 mile and I cant say that I am all that pleased with the results.

I knew something was up when the car was launching like a dog off the line. My N/A 60 foot was a 2.209 on my very first and best run, 330 foot was 5.868, 1/8 mile was 8.809 @ 80.809 and 1/4 mile was 13.625 @ 103.227. At least I didnt spin the tires once the entire day during a run.

I was expecting more since adding the drag shocks, long tube headers and the drag radials but that little ****ing gremlin apparently counteracted anything I have done to the car this past year.

The n2o runs improved over the N/A shake downs as expected, I took more than a second off with 12 mph more on the 125 shot. 60 foot was 2.169, 330 foot was 5.591, 1/8 mile was 8.312 @ 89.124, 1/4 mile was 12.589 @ 115.437.

That "gremlin" is right off idle or a brake stall, basically its a huge hesitation just before WOT. My Predator reveals that the spark advance is 16000+ or something like that then it reads 1 degree of advance and the next moment the engine comes to life. This all happens within the rpm range of 2-3k.

Hopefully my AlteredSpeed boys will eventually work out that bug cause those first 100 feet from the line sucks. They did turn up 300 rwhp and 305 ft/lbs on N/A and 400rwhp on the bottle last week on the Mustang Dyno though.

Oh, the next project is a PI Stallion converter with 2600-3000 stall, the stock converter didnt like the 150 shot much.

Anyways, I didnt return with my 11 second timeslip but at least I can help others with the questions again. Im back!

Good to hear from you again Dan.......

I don't have an auto so you certainly know more about them than I do, but does your tuner have that torque management system defeated? Seems odd that the car is bogging now more than before, unless the additional traction is dictating that you launch at a different rpm, and thus the need to alter the tune to compensate for the required timing within your new launch range.

If you get your 60' time down, and add that PI converter (which kicked a$$ in my auto '04 Mach 1 anyway), I bet you'll be right on the edge of 11's with the spray. Good luck!

Hey Dan,
I was going to ask the same question as Tom281. Is your torque management turned off. I am running Lidio's tune on my auto and it is night and day difference over the Dialbo I had. Especially the throttle response difference. ZERO LAG from a standing start.

torque management is definitely turned off, its actually the reason how I have 305 ft/lbs and 300 hp at the wheels now. I didnt notice the extreme lag before I left my tuner this past visit, I was more concerned with 3rd gear shifting to 4th gear then downshifting back to 3rd during WOT.

With the drag radials I can hold the tires at just above 2000 rpm but I was also testing the launch at variable RPM throughout the evening and the same thing would occur at WOT right off launch. I can punch the pedal and the same thing happens, the tach also reads a drop in rpm too.

It was several tunes ago that I had that zero lag off idle or launch, it just needs to be identified and corrected before I return to the track before summer's end. Probably by the end of September...
