Unhappy Hurst Shifter Squeaking (not rattle issue) - Please Please Help

So I've had problems with my Hurst shifter since I first installed it.

The first problem was a cross threaded bolt up front in the tunnel (fixed by cutting the bolt down and locktighting - its fine I just checked).

Then the second issue was rattling which i still can't fix. I tried fixing it by spraying lubricant on top of the shifter and also using padding between the handle and base - this worked for a while but not it's back - oh well.

The third issue was a squeeking noise that developed after the winter when going over bumps, found out the shifter linkage was on too tight and didnt have enought lubrication - fixed or so I thought.

So now here is my latest issue:

When I move the shifter arm to the left or right it squeaks.

+I know it isnt the boot, I took it off - I tried cleaning the top of the shifter bearing and putting some white lithum grease on it, doesnt seem to be working.

I took the Shifter handle off and moved the handle base stub - it still squeaks so its nothing to do with the handle. I tried going under the car and disconnecting the shifter linkage so I could lubricate it properly, but unfortunately it is stuck so I did my best to rub some lubricant around. So I think it is one of two things:

+Linkage needs lube
+bearing is squeaking

here is the odd thing, it doesnt squeak moving forwards or backwards through gears. When I brake sometimes I will hear creaking from the shifter. if I put the shifter in neutral move it to the left or right, it squeaks, however when it goes back to center and I move it to the same direction again, it doesnt squeak. But if I move it to the oposite direction and then back it squeaks.

Any Idea which problem it likely is?????? What a nightmare

If you have the comp plus, Ford Racing just came out with a rebuild kit that may help http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...KeyField=11230

Or you could just use Tom's advice

How old is it? IIRC, Hurst had problems with the initial run of shifters that had a bad bearing. Call them and they'll probably make it right...

There's a plastic cup thats on the linkage that you need to spray WD40 on. I had the same problem till I did that.
