HURST BILLET PLUS FALLS APART

Got in my car Saturday night, and the shifter just wallowed in it's socket. Had to have a tow to my dealership. Had this thing less than a year, and best I can tell right now, a set screw backed out of the linkage at the back, and allowed the linkage to FALL OFF! So much for bullet proof Hurst reliability. I ain't no poweshifter; just drive the stupid thing. Got a tech who's going to look it over and see if it can be fixed today. As far as I can see, the 13mm nut and bolt are still assembled to it. If I had known that a set screw was all that retained it to the shifter socket, I'd have stayed with the stock unit, or searched another brand. Needless to say, I'm not too impressed right now. Have any of y'all run into this before, or have a pic of the bottom of the Hurst shifter so I can kinda see how it attaches to the shifter stick?

Prior to it falling off this it begin to wobble a bit or make more noise. Or did it feel solid, and this happens?

Only thing that I've re tightened are the 3 allens that bolt both billet pieces together. They were loose from the factory. I have yet to notice any other flaw. I'm curious on which set screw you are referring to.

There is a roll pin, actually, in the bottom of the shifter where the ball socket goes into the shifting arm that runs forward to the transmission. This pin came out completely, and the arm fell off, bolt and all still attached. The pin is a part of the shifter assembly when it comes out of the box; it's all put together. Fixed it with a .05 cent roll pin and some silicone on either end of the pin. Probably won't happen again; I think it was just a fluke anyway, but I still ain't too happy with how this is held together.
