THe throw from 2nd to 3rd does seem a little long for me. My main beef is the ability to comfortably rest my hand on the shifter when driving, in 1st, 3rd and 5th, it is not that comfortable to me anyway. A shifter may provide just that fdor me.
Real hard with a 32 OZ soda or coffee in the cup holder.
The one I have now is an auto but I do drive the first one, manual shift at times. For my small mind 50% reduction in throw is too much. 2 to 3 is a shift I sometimes miss now and shorter throw would not help me. Unless one is in a race what difference does it make? I would rather put the $$ in other mods.

It's too rubbery for my liking.
After seeing the shifter install explained in the June Mustang 5.0 magazine, I'm thinkin about it seriously.

Yeah, with the Tri-Ax, the Hurst or the Pro (If it ever comes out) the throw is shortened considerably. I personally think that the 2 to 3 shift is a real bear at times. Not as precise as it should be. With the new shifters you will find that it naturally assists the 2 to 3 shift, more so than the stack shifter. I dont race... much.... but there have been a few times when the kids just will not leave me alone and then I find that my foot is down and I cant help myself...
