It comes with a B&M short-throw. I wonder if you'll even need an aftermarket shifter.

While I agree that the shifter in the 05 is in a much better location than the previous models, I do not like the spongy feeling of the 05 factory shifter. I work for Mr. Gasket , the owner of Hurst Shifters, so I will get a chance to try the upcoming Hurst unit soon. It has a 50% reduction in throw compared to the stock shifter.

I think for most, this shifter has a great throw. Quite short and precise.

From what I have been told the Hurst shifter will have about 2 inces of total throw. The first prototype was in the Red Roush mustang at SEMA. Supposedly, Jack Roush personally drove the car and loved the shifter.

How about throwing $400 at a muffler system so you can get chrome tips? People want to brag about their mods, not about how their mods actually made the car a better car....

Shifter seems fine IMO.

THe throw from 2nd to 3rd does seem a little long for me. My main beef is the ability to comfortably rest my hand on the shifter when driving, in 1st, 3rd and 5th, it is not that comfortable to me anyway. A shifter may provide just that fdor me.
