Being in close proximity to JDM I picked up their air kit and a C&L racer intake tube to replace the stock elbow and of course loaded the matching tune with my XCAL2. This thing rocks!

The car sounds great and has a lot more kick! I am going to the drag strip to test out the new mods in the next week or so and was wondering if anyone has removed the drivers side headlight to provide a little ram air effect. If so did you see improved ET's?

Also what is involved in removing the headlight assembly?

Thanks

If you had gone in this direction you wouldnt have to remove anything.

Einstein would frown at your knowledge of simple science. Open and close your window. Which one allows are to travel in? Same general concept in relation to the headlight. I am not saying it's going to be hurricane force winds are going to suddenly form in front of the headlight area, but there will definetly be fresh ambient air pushed into the area where the headlight assb. was.

All depends on the pressures. There is a turning Vortex in front of the light area acording to tests already done in the Windtunnel.

Might be a bit different if they removed the headlight. It's too big of hassle on this car, but on others it's simple and works pretty effectively.

Lets go back to the obvious so we can actually do some good.

the joys of TMS. no wonder so many switched

if you want to introdune the most air possible into your intake, Ram Air is not the method you want. You will gain much more air under the hood with a Cowl induction hood than Ram Air. Hence why most race cars and cars you see at the track, the serious ones, have cowl hoods. if you want the added air, get a cowl hood and create a duct for the air to travel to the filter. this is definately better than the headlight thing being discussed above, which doesnt work.
