guaging interest in an auto shifter
there is at least one writeup already done, a while ago by someone here on the forums. I can't remember who it was, if you search you can probably find it. I'm not actually doing the swap myself, a local shop (RET) is doing it.
Heh, this is officially dead. There hasn't been any news on either end. Further, there still hasn't been any addressing of the impact on the transmission. I still believe force-shifting the AT is gonna reek havoc on a transmission that is already called "weak" to begin with. I predict that if anyone does get either of these, without a modified trans, they'll be facing a rebuild within 5k miles.
That is too funny. Shifting gears an in automatic wont hurt it but you can go ahead and keep believing that. You could over-rev your motor and hurt it though if you failed to shift in time.
I've grown tired of waiting for this item, and with 4.10 gears and a supercharger installed now, I can't manually shift the car fast enough to need the ratchet shifter anymore anyway, so I'll be leaving it in drive at the track now.
this is absolutely ridiculous. I feel absolutely bad for you automatic transmission people. I keep checking back periodically to see any results for you, but still nothing after all this time???
way to go B&M....*clap* *clap*
anyone get any info or luck on the TCI shifter or perhaps pruchase one??

Hey, good luck with the TCI one!. They are in the same boat as us. Ford decided to change the lockout solenoid (again) during production models and the company who was making it for them is now out of business or nowhere to be found??. We can't make this shifter work without that piece(s). Unfortunately I can't give you guys anymore info until we have reverse engineered this thing and sent out to be built.

No more auto for me. I would have liked to try out the auto shifter :-(
