Yup, I like centrifugal's but a turbo would be fun, some valve springs and make 650 on wastegate would make me happy

Dooo eet!

It's been a while since an update, I had a problem with the live link picking up maf counts, long story short, three problem was a #40 fuse was blown. Replaced it, and voila, maf counts! So i tried to start the car to get a running log but it wouldn't. Unplugged the mafs, car started by playing with the throttle, once it was running, I plugged it back in and it stayed running. Got a log, sent it to my tuner. He sent me a leaner file bcs it was still rich, started right up, logged it, sent it to him again. Next updated tune will probably be the driving log! Can't wait! I'm adding pics to my photo bucket acct if you guys want to check it out.

We have boost! Took it for a drive a few days ago just to check everything. Changed My oil to Valvoline VR1 Racing oil, checked for leaks and went for it, sort of, only about 30% throttle, in second gear, built boost at around 3200rpm, got around 3psi and let off. The sound of the turbo is just nasty, hks got it right with the whoosh sound. The car is quieter until you get to boost. My tuner wants a third gear log at wot from 2-4500rpm, can't right now fur two reasons, our had 91 octane gas and it's tuned fur 93 (they didn't have 93 and i was empty). And, it was humid as hell outside. So I need to drain that 3month old gas, fill up with 93, and finish the car. I have some trim pieces left and front bumper to put back on. I'll report back with the run results by tomorrow.

I had bungs welded into a set of cam covers and I am running #10 lines from each cover to a breather catch can on each side. I have also installed a Krankvent pcv fitting in the driver side line, which allows air out but not in. I am running a line from the stock vent to an oil catch can, with another Krankvent, then to the intake manifold.

This setup gives me plenty of breather capacity at wot and still uses the engine vacuum, to pull the fumes into the intake, at normal engine speeds. I don't have anymore oil smell during normal driving and I am very happy with the setup.

Just something for you to consider down the road, if you have the oil smell problem.

Earl
Where did you purchase the material to make the adapted lines go the oil catch can? Thanks nice build!

I guess I didn't give an update since its been put back together. The car is running great, still on the 6# spring with the boost controller, got a few new updated tunes but I don't have the final tune yet. Weather hasn't been the greatest here on my says off so I haven't been able to run my o/r cats and turn up the boost to 8-9#. Besides that its been great, sounds awesome, pulls hard, Burr I can't wait to run my o/r pipes, run some racegas through it, wot box and drag radials to make a 11sec pass. Yes I'm planning on going forged, one step atty a time.

If you mean the bungs welded into the covers, I don't know, the welder provided those. I am told it takes special material to weld the magnesium covers on our cars, you can't use normal steel or aluminum fittings. The rest of the lines are just standard Earl's fittings and lines.

Thanks, with my blower I have trouble connecting to the intake manifold . The new radiator line gets in the way.

I hope to have it on the dyno for the power pulls tomorrow afternoon. The engine is broken in and driveability functions of the tune are finished. Just have to get the full pull tuning finished. When I get it back I will still need to get the underside of the hood redone but then it will finally be full resurrected.

No, I didn't make one for the rebuild as I didn't think anyone would be very interested. I just posted some occasional updates. I did make a thread about the fire damage on S197Forum. As you know, I spend about 90% of my time on that forum.
